The Lok Sabha Elections for 2014 is fast approaching. It is said that there are many contenders for the post of coveted post of Prime Minister. We as astrologers are burning midnight oil to analyse the charts of these contenders to come to conclusion as to who could be the next PM of India. As far as I know, there are a few contenders for the post and these are Manmohan Singh, Rahul Gandhi, Narendra Modi, and Nitish Kumar. We will analyse all these charts thread bare and see for our self as to who could be the possible PM of India in 2014. The elections are slated to be held during April-May 2014 and the PM is likely to be appointed in June 2014. So for our analysis following tools and methodologies have been used to arrive at the conclusion.

1. Birth charts of the individual contenders
2. Horoscopes of Congress and Bhartiya Janta Party
3. The dasha/antara in operation as of June, 2014 will be taken as the basis for deciding the final outcome.
4. Transits during the month of May/June 2014
5. For a person to enter the politics, one has to have a strong Lagna (ability), 10^th house, 2^nd house (speech), 3^rd house (courage), 6^th house (for service) and 11^th house (desires). The planets that play important role are sun, moon, mars, Jupiter and Saturn. These planets should be connected to the relevant houses.

Manmohan Singh

Birth details: September 26, 1932 at 14 hrs, Gah, Pakistan, Lat 33N03, Long 72E39.

Analysis by Vedic and KP astrology

1. The lagna rising is Sagittarius. The lagna lord Jupiter is placed in the 9^th house with ketu in Leo a royal sign. Jupiter is however, placed in the 8^th house in the chalit chart. This shows the degree of assertiveness and the typical quality of being silent at every occasion. Jupier is in the star of venus in 7^th (being lord of 5, 6 and 10). This shows his affinity, honesty and integrity with which he executes his duties. Jupiter stands for integrity. Here Jupiter signifies 10^th, the house of profession.
2. The sub lord of lagna is Saturn in lagna, lord of 2^nd. Saturn is placed in the star of sun (government) in 10^th, lord of 8^th. However, sun falls in the 8^th house in the chalit chart. The sublord of Saturn is  mercury in 8^th, lord of 7 and 9. This again reiterates my statement in point no. 1 above.
3. The 10^th house, lord is mercury (in equal house system) placed in the 10^th with sun (government). The sub lord of 10^th is Saturn and the same is stated above in point 2 above.
4. The 2^nd house sub lord is mercury (speech) is place in the star of sun in 8^th. Mercury is also conjunct sun the lord of 8^th. This really reveals that silence is golden.
5. The sub lord of 3^rd cusp is venus (a soumya planet) in 7^th, lord of 5,6 and 10. Its star lord is mercury (speech) in 8^th. No wonder he speaks so less or never speaks even when required.
6. The sub lord of 6^th house is Saturn (common people) is placed in lagna in the star of sun in the 8^th and sub of mercury in the 8^th This shows that there is general discontentment from the people of India on his service to the country.
7. 11^th house sub lord is ketu in the 8^th (no planets in the star of ketu, hence strong in 8^th) in the star of venus (in 7, lord 5,6 and 10) in the sub of Saturn in 1. The signification of 8^th house does not auger well for his 11^{th House.}

Jaimini Astrology   

1. The Amk, moon is in 8^th house though in its own house is conjunct with venus (lord of 6 and 11), AK and mars (lord of 5 and 12) MK. Its aspected by Rahu. As the Amk moon is placed in th 8^th house along with AK in the 8^th house, his efforts are not being appreciated by the people and there is general discontentment that is in the air today.
2. The 10^th house has sun (governemt), PK with mercury, GK. This also is not good placement for the sun to be in.

Vimshottari Dasha

1. Currently Rahu maha dasha is on till Feb, 2014. Thereafter, Jupiter maha dasha will begin. Jupiter is in the 8^th house in the chalit along with ketu. Jupiter is in the star of venus and sub of moon. Jupiter is in 8, lord of 1 and 3. Venus is in 7, lord of 5,6 and 10. Moon is in 7, lord of none. There is a connection between 8^th and 10^th
2. There is also connection of 1^st with 8^th and 6^th, which is not good from his health perspective.
3. In the navamsha, Jupiter goes to the 12^th
4. In the, Dasamsha, Jupiter is debilitated and aspected by mars from the 12^th house and rahu.
5. Transit Jupiter will transit 12^th house of Dasamsha (Cancer is the rising sign in D/10).
6. The above configurations does not augur well for the post of PM. Hence, Manmohan Singh becoming PM is ruled out.

Jaimini chara dasha

1. In June, 2014 the dasha will be of Pi/Cn. Cancer will be the 8^th house from the natal asc which has A8 (arudha of disappointment). Cancer has moon , Amk (position), with Mars, MK and Venus, Ak ( self).

Transits

1. On June 1^st, 2014, sun (government and PMs post) is forming a exact square with natal Jupiter. Further, lord 12^th mars will transit the natal 10^th The 11^th house will have rahu and retro Saturn. Jupiter will transit in Jupiter star, which represents 8^th house in natal chart. All these are not conducive for the post of PM.
2. Transit Uranus will be at 21 Pi 33 in June 2014, which is squaring the natal lagna at 22 Sg 47.
3. Transit Neptune will be at 13 Aq 36 in opposition to natal Jupiter.

Conclusion

As seen from above neither the vimshottari nor the chara dasha is in favor of the native becoming the PM. Added to that the transits are also not favorable. Hence, the native becoming PM is ruled out.

Rahul Gandhi

Birth details: June 19, 1970 at 12.10 hrs, New Delhi, Lat 28 N 36, Long 77 E 12.

Analysis by Vedic and KP astrology

1. The lagna rising is virgo. The lagna lord mercury is placed in the 9^th house in the sign of Taurus. Mercury is in the star of moon (in the 4^th, lord if 11^th). Moon is aspected by mars (lord of 9) and sun (lord of 12^th). Mars is also lord of 3^rd and 8^th as per the equal house system. This shows that the person is basically rich by birth, but somehow lacks initiative (due to aspect of mars and sun, lord of 8 and 12). The sub lord of lagna is Jupiter (no planet in jupiter star) in 2^nd house, libra, aspected by Saturn (in 8^th, lord of 6^th). Libra is natural 7^th house, a house of public life. Jupiter is in the star of mars (in 10^th, lord of 9^th) and sub of venus (in 11^th, lord of 3^rd). Mars is conjunct sun (lord of 12). This shows that, the person is basically rich and lucky, but lacks initiative due to the aspect of mars (lord of 3[vedic], 8[vedic] and 9), Saturn (lord of 5, 6 in 8^th) and sun (lord 12).
2. The 10^th house lord is mercury placed in the 9^th. The sub lord of 10^th is also mercury. It is in the star of moon and sun of jupiter. Mercury is in the 9^th house, lord of 1, 2 and 10. The star lord moon is in 3^rd, lord of 11^th. The sub lord Jupiter is in the 2^nd, lord of 4, 7 and 8. There is no planet in the star of Jupiter and hence Jupiter is a strong significator of houses 2, 4, 7 and 8. There are no planets in the mercury star. Hence, mercury strongly signifies, 1 and 9 and 11 through the star lord. However, the sub lord signification of 8^th is not a welcome feature.
3. The 2^nd house sub lord is Saturn, it is in the 8^th house (lord of 5 and 6) and debilitated. Saturn is in the star of venus in 11^th, lord of 3^rd in sub of mercury in 9, lord of 1, 2 and 10. There are no planets in mercury star. Further, the star lord venus also happens to be the sub lord of 6^th. Thus it shows that, the person is of secretive (Saturn in 8^th) nature and will speak sweetly (venus) for his personal gains (11^th). The signification of venus through the sub lordship of 6^th shows that whatever the person speaks it ends in dispute and enemity (6^th house).
4. The sub lord of 3^rd cusp is moon in the 3^rd house, lord of 11^th, in the star of ketu in the 12, in the sub of venus in 11^th, lord of 3^rd. Ketu represents 12^th as well due to being in leo. All the planets connected with 3^rd house are saumya planets like moon and venus. There is no power or aggressiveness in him.
5. The sub lord of 6^th house is venus in 11^th house, lord of 3. Venus is in the star of Saturn in 8, lord of 5 and 6 in the sub of venus. The signification of Saturn of 8 is not good. Though the star lord being Saturn and 6^th signification is a welcome feature as far as serving the common people is concerned.
6. 11^th house sub lord is rahu in the 6^th in its own star and sub of mercury in 9, lord of 1,2 and 10. Rahu represents, Saturn (i.e: 8, 6 and 6). The sub lord denoting 10^th is negation of 11, hence a negative point as far as the fulfillment of desires are concerned.

Jaimini Astrology  

1. The AK Saturn is in the 8^th house and debilitated. Saturn is aspected by Rahu from the 6^th house and ketu, A8 as well. The AK is weak and hence can be concluded that the person lacks drive and initiative.
2. The sun (government) is in the 10^th house along with mars (AmK). Sun is conjunct the A6 and aspected by Moon (DK). This is a good configuration, but conjunction of A6 will land him in disputes which will come in his way.

Vimshottari Dasha

1. The native will go thru dasha mars and bukti of Jupiter from June, 2014. Mars is the lord of 3^rd [vedic], 8^th [vedic] and 9^th [Kp], in the 10^th house with sun, lord of 12^th. Mars is in the star of rahu in 6^th and sub of sun in 10, lord of 12. The signification of sun at the sub lord level is not good for mars. The bukti is of Jupiter is in the 2^nd house, lord of 4, 7 and 8 in the star of mars in 10^th, lord of 3^rd [vedic], 8^th [vedic] and 9^th [Kp], in the 10^th, in the sub of venus in 11^th, lord of 3^rd, 2[vedic] and 9 [vedic]. Jupiter is aspected by Saturn from the 8^th house, lord of 5 and 6. Saturn also aspect mars. The aspects of Saturn and lordships of 8 and 6 is not good and he is likely to face some legal disputes (Jupiter being aspected by Saturn from 8^th). The overall period is not good for the post of PM.
2. IN D9, Jupiter is placed in the 10^th house aspected by mars (lord of 4 and 11, from 3) and moon (lord of 7, from 4). However, the antara lord Jupiter is placed in the 8^th from dasanath mars.
3. In D10 (Dasamsha) the antara lord Jupiter is in the 6^th house aspected by rahu. Further, the antara lord Jupiter is in the 12^th from dasanath mars.

Jaimini chara dasha

1. The dasha will be of aries/leo from dec 2013 to sept 2014. Sun (PK) and Mars (AmK) is posited in the 11^th Moon (DK) aspects sun and mars. Sun and mars is with A6 (disputes). The 10^th house from leo has mercury (BK) aspected by Jupiter (GK, means disputes). Leo has A8 (impediments) along with A4 (throne, position).
2. Thereafter from Sept 2014, the dasha will be of aries/virgo. From virgo, Saturn (AK) is in the 8^th house and debilitated. Further, the 8^th house has A10 (status, position), aspected by A8 and ketu from 12^th Rahu also aspects Saturn (AK) from the 6^th house.
3. The above clearly shows that the prospects of become PM is totally ruled out.

Transits

1. As of beginning June, 2014, Jupiter will transit 10^th house along with mercury the lagna lord. Jupiter will transit in the star of Jupiter and sub of ketu. Ketu in the natal chart signifies 12^th house in the natal chart. Retrograde Saturn and rahu will transit the 2^nd Mars the lord of 3 [vedic] and 8[vedic] will transit lagna. These transits are not conducive for the native.

Conclusion

The dasha/antara in operation as of June 2014 are not conducive, the native becoming the PM is ruled out.

Nitish Kumar

Birth details: March 1, 1951 at 13.17 hrs, Bhaktiarpur, Lat 26N13, Long 86E59.

Analysis by Vedic and KP astrology

1. The lagna rising is Gemini at 19 deg 48. The lagna lord mercury is in the 8^th house in the chalit chart and in the 9^th house in rashi chart. Mercury is conjunct sun (lord of 3), rahu and Jupiter (lord of 7 and 10). The lagna sub lord is mars (in 9, lord of 6 and 11) in the star of Saturn (in 3 lord of 8 and 9) in the sub of mercury (in 8, lord of 1 and 4). Mars is conjunct venus (in 10, lord of 5 and 12). The native is courageous (mars), ambitious (10 and 6). The signification of 8^th house through mercury the sub lord is not cooperating in his endeavor.
2. The 2^nd house sub lord is rahu (in 9) in the star of Jupiter (in 9, lord of 7 and 10) in the sub of venus (in 10, lord of 5 and 12). Rahu represents Saturn (in 3, lord 8 and 9). Rahu is conjunct sun (lord of 3), mercury (lord of 1 and 4). The person is very extempore in his speech, intelligent (rahu in aquarius), talks with a spiritual tint (Jupiter and 9^th house).
3. The sub lord of 3^rd house is Jupiter (in 9, lord of 7 and 10) in its own star and sub of mercury (in 8, lord of 1 and 4). Jupiter is conjunct sun, rahu and mercury. His communication abilities are excellent (9^th), with substance (sun) and reasoning (mercury), however, it lands him up in trouble (8^th house in the sub lord).
4. The sub lord of 6^th house is mercury (in 8, lord of 1 and 4) in the star of rahu and sub of rahu. Rahu represents Saturn (in 3, lord of 8 and 9), sun (in 9, lord of 3) and Jupiter (in 9, lord 7 and 10). This will mean that the native is committed to the people in terms of education, transport, communication (mercury) and infrastructure (saturn). His support is also seen for the downtrodden people of the society (rahu). Further, the native though seems secular is seen as a communal person due to the connection Jupiter and 9^th
5. The sub lord of the 11^th house is venus (in 10, lord of 5 and 12) in the star of Saturn (in 3, lord of 8 and 9) in the sub of mars (in 9, lord of 6 and 11). There are no planets in the star of mars, hence mars is a strong significator of 11 as there are no planets in 11. The native is full of desires to be at the top and helm of affairs (10^th house). The sub lord is fully supportive by signifying 6 and 11.

Jaimini Astrology  

1. Jupiter (AK) is in the 9^th house conjunct sun (BK), mercury (PK), Rahu and A11 (desires). These are aspected by A6 (service to people), A4 (throne), A9 (fortune) and A7 (public life). These are excellent combinations for the native to be in politics.
2. The moon (AmK) is in the 6^th house and debilitated. AmK is aspected by A6, A4, A9, A7, A10 and UL. These are again excellent combinations, except that Amk is debilitated.

Vimshottari Dasha

1. From June, 2014 the native will run the maha dasha of Rahu and antara of Jupiter. Jupiter (in 9, lord 7 and 10). Jupiter is conjunct sun (lord of 3), Rahu, Mercury (lord of 1 and 4). Jupiter is in its own star and sub of mercury. Since, Jupiter is in its own star, the sub lord will behave like the star lord. In this case the sub lord is mercury and is placed in the 8^th house in chalit chart. Thus, the signification of 7 and 10 by Jupiter is spoiled by the mercury being in the 8^th
2. IN D9 (Navamsha), the antara lord Jupiter in 3^rd conjunct rahu and aspected by Saturn (lord of 11 and 12, from 1^st).
3. In the D10 (Dasamsha) the sign rising is Sagittarius. The Asc lord and antara lord Jupiter is placed in the 11^th house with Rahu and aspected by mercury (from 5^th, lord of 7 and 10). This is good in terms of his career.

Jaimini chara dasha

1. From Feb 2014, the native will have the dasha of Cancer. From Cancer, the 10^th house is aspected by Moon (AmK and Asc lord). The 10^th house from Cancer also has A7 (pada prapthi), A9 (fortune). The 10^th house is also aspected by A3 (efforts) and A5 (fame). This is a good configuration.

Transits

1. Around May/June 2014, Jupiter (lord of 7 and 10) will transit lagna. During this time, mercury (lord of 1 and 4) will also transit lagna. Mars will also transit 4^th house (throne), lord of 6 and 11. Jupiter will transit in its own star and mercury will transit in mars star (lord of 6 and 11).

Conclusion

On the overall, the dasha both in vimshottari and jaimini are favorable for the native. Added to this the transits are also favorable. There is all likely hood that the native is strong contender for the PMs post.

Narendra Modi

Birth details: September 17, 1950 at 11.00 hrs, Vadnagar, Mehsana Dist. , Lat 23N47, Long 72E38.

Analysis by Vedic and KP astrology

1. The asc rising is scorpio, whose lord mars is placed in the asc itself along with moon (which is debilitated). However, it has attained neechabanga. In the chalit chart the mars is relegated to 12^th The mars being in the asc and scorpio rising shows the native being aggressive and dynamic. His actions will be extempore. The person has a fighting spirit. Mars is also aspected by Rahu. Mars is sextile Saturn and mercury. This shows that person is with very high ego.
2. The sub lord of asc is rahu (in 4^th, throne, pada prapti) in the star of Saturn (in 10, lord of 3 and 4) and in the sub of Saturn itself. Rahu being Sagittarius represents Jupiter (in 4, lord of 2 and 5). Rahu is also aspected by sun (in 10, lord of 10) and mercury (in 10, lord of 8 and 11). This is an excellent combination and the sub lord of asc in fortified quite well.
3. The sub lord of 2^rd house is venus (in 10, lord of 7 and 12) in the star of venus and sub of sun (in 10, lord of 10). Venus is in the Leo (a royal sign) and conjunct Saturn (lord of 3 and 4). The sub lord sun is conjunct mercury (lord of 8 and 11). This again is an excellent combination. The 2^nd house signifies speech. The native when he communicates he does with royal fervor and when he talks he talks with lot of substance. He is also authoritative in his talks. The person is very professional and career minded in the way he communicates.
4. The sub lord of 3^rd house is Jupiter (in 4, lord of 2 and 5) in the star of rahu (in 4) and sub of rahu. Jupiter is aspected by mars (in scorpio, from 12, lord of 1 and 6). Jupiter is also aspected by venus (in 10, lord of 7 and 12) and Saturn (in 10, lord of 3 and 4). The star and sub lord rahu is aspected by sun (in 10, lord of 10) and mercury (in 10, lord of 8 and 11). The native is very courageous (mars). The native will spend all his efforts to achieve his ambition (10) and he will also be successful (11).
5. The sub lord of 6^th house is Rahu (in 4) in the star of Saturn (in 10, lord of 3 and 4) and sub of Saturn. Rahu is in pisces and Saturn is aspected by Jupiter (in 4, lord of 2 and 5) and conjunct venus (lord of 7 and 12). His service is towards people (4^th) and charity minded (pisces) and professional in nature (10^th). He also has affinity towards the religious class (Jupiter) of people. His fighting spirit is too extreme (rahu) in nature.
6. The sub lord of 11^th house is ketu (in 10^th) in the star of sun (in 10, lord of 10) and sub of mercury (in 10, lord of 8 and 11). Ketu being in virgo, represents mercury. His desire to reach the top (10) and being ambitious (10) is seen from these combinations.

Jaimini Astrology  

1. Saturn (AK) and Venus (AmK) both are in the 10^th house and 2^nd house from AL. Superb combination for the native to reach the high position. These are aspected by A10, A2 and A5 as well.

Vimshottari Dasha

1. The dasha is of Moon and Antara is of rahu, which began in March, 2013 and will end in Sept 2014. Rahu is in the 4^th house in the star and sub of Saturn (in 10, lord of 3 and 4). Rahu also signifies Jupiter, sun and mercury. This is a good period for his rise in political career.
2. In D9, rahu is in the 2^nd house with venus (lord of 4 and 11). Rahu is aspected by Jupiter from the 6^th This also is a good combination for the rise. However, rahu is in the 12^th to Moon, which is not good.
3. In D10, rahu is in Sagittarius in 6^th house and debilitated. Rahu is aspected by Jupiter from 10^th This is also not a good combination.

Jaimini chara dasha

1. The dasha is of Aries/Aries from february 2014 to september 2014. From Aries, the Saturn (AK) and Venus (AmK) is in the 5^th house aspecting the 10^th From Aries, the 7^th house (public life) has A10 and Aries has A2. These are very good combination for the native.

Transits

1. Currently and during May/June, 2014 rahu and Saturn will be transiting the 12^th house from Asc and Moon. This is not and good feature.
2. The Antara is also of rahu and rahu in 12^th is not good.
3. During may/june 2014, rahu will transit mars star, which is in the 12^th in the natal chart.

Conclusion

Though the dashas are favorable, the transits are not of any help to the native. Hence, the native becoming the PM is ruled out.

Congress Party

Formation date: January 2, 1978 ; 12 noon ; New Delhi

The dasha will be of Jupiter/Mercury/Venus from March 2014 to August 2014.

Natal chart:

The dasha lord Jupiter is retrograde and placed in the 4^th house, aspected by sun (lord of 6^th) and venus (lord of 3 and 8) from the 10^th house. The Antara lord mercury is placed in the 9^th house, close conjunction with Neptune. The prati antar lord venus is in the 10^th house, conjunct sun (lord of 6^th) and aspected by retrograde Jupiter (from 4^th, lord of 1 and 10). The antar dasha lord mercury is in 6^th to the dasha lord and prati antar lord venus is in 2/12 position from antara lord.

The jaimini chara dasha will be of Leo/Sagittarius (sign of fall from high position) from Jan 2014 to sept 2014. From Sagittarius, the AK Mercury is in the 12^th house. Sagittarius has sun (Amk), venus (PK), aspected by Jupiter (DK), Moon (MK) and all these are aspected by Rahu. The AK going in 12^th house is not good.

Navamsha Chart:

The dasha lord Jupiter is in lagna conjunct mars and aspected by Saturn and moon from the 7^th house. The Antara lord mercury is debilitated and aspected by Jupiter and sun. The prati anatara lord venus is in the 9^th house, aspected by Saturn and Jupiter. The antara lord being debilitated is a negative factor.

Dasamsha chart:

The dasha lord Jupiter is in the 5^th house with mars (lord of 8^th). The antara lord mercury and prati antara lord venus are in the asc afflicted by Saturn, rahu and ketu.

All these are not good configuration for Congress to come to power with majority seats. Hence, Manmohan Singh and Rahul Gandhi becoming PM does not arise.

Bharatiya Janata Party

Formation date: April 6, 1980 ; 11.45 am ; New Delhi

The dasha will be of Sun/Jupiter from March 2014 to January 2015.

Natal chart:

The anatar dasha lord Jupiter is retrograde and placed in the 3^rd house and heavily afflicted by Saturn, mars and rahu. The anatar dasha lord Jupiter is in the 6^th house form the dasanath sun. From the dasanath sun, Jupiter is the 10^th lord and heavily afflicted by malefic.

The jaimini chara dasha will be of Aquarius/Virgo from April 2014 to October 2014. From virgo, Saturn (AK) is in the 12^th house along with Jupiter (GK) and Rahu. Moon (Amk) is in the 3^rd house, aspected by A7. From virgo, the 10^th house is aspected by A11, A5, A8 and A2. The Saturn (AK) being in 12^th and afflicted is not a good factor.

Navamsha Chart:

The antar dasha lord retrograde Jupiter is in Gemini aspected by Saturn from the 8^th house. Further, Jupiter the antara lord is in the 6^th house from the dasanath sun.

Dasamsha chart:

The anatar dasha lord Jupiter is in the 10^th house with mercury. Jupiter is the 3^rd and 12^th lord in the 10^th house.

All these are not good configuration for Bharatiya Janata Party to come to power with majority seats. Hence, Narendra Modi becoming PM does not arise.

Finally, it can be concluded that, there will be some other third front who will form the government with Nitish Kumar as the PM.
