For the welfare of the universe , Goddess Parvati  prays to Lord Shiva to explain  the essence of Jyotish or the light of knowledge  regarding the time and its effect on the life of people.

After listening to Lord Shiva’s teaching, Parvati  blesses the people on the earth, with the knowledge of the result of planets, with respect to moon postion .

The reference of moon is, because moon stays for 2.5 days in a rasi, which helps the common man to understand the results on the rasi basis, when the exact birth time is not sure of or not noted precisely.

Gouri Jataka is a good tool, in rectification of birth day even for lost horoscope. If the birth is in the beginning  or closing of the day (oo hrs to 24 hrs  time counting), then by the study of  moon rasi and other planets, the exact birth rasi can be corrected to match the type of results indicated (which is experienced by the native ).

Gouri Jataka is a good guide in understanding the structure of the native while deciding the matrimony.

Similarly Gouri Jataka is a excellent muhurtha planner, along with any good software.

Gouri Jataka can also be used as an instrument to assess the candidature in election or selection because the capability of the candidate is known in advance.

The meanings of the words in the sloka are coded (in a nut shell) and outwardly appears straight and simple, but in reality are much deep and broad.  Instead of going by literary meaning, the investigators may streach the applicability over wide perspective.  I have tried to furnish few applicable allternate meanings.

Gouri Jataka does not use any yoga by name, but indicates the results in a broader perspective covering personnel, social and spritual domains.

Contrary to the belief that Gajakesari Yoga – guru in kendras from moon, see the other side of the coin.

Gouri Jataka details all the four possibilities ( 1^st ,4^th ,7^th ,10^th place )  of particular combination, differently.

Similarly, for the Sunapha and Anapha Yogas, see the results on the other side of the coin.

The results of  the previous bhava (karma back log) with regard to vakra grahas can also be noted along with the results in the posited bhavas of the vakra graha.

It is a general feeling and message spread across saying that Rahu and Ketu are there to destroy, but the reality not explained is that they are the couriers (like other grahas) of `results of cause and effect’ of the jeeva. This meaning can be read in the slokas of Gouri Jataka.

Rahu in 5^th bhava to chandra, the style of death, designed can be analysed.

I have included an event `Hallifax Explosion’, Wherein both chandra and rahu are in Agni Tatwa Rasi, analysts may find it interesting to know the games of fate in mass destruction, by simple tool like Gouri Jataka.

Goddess Gouri after listening from Lord Shiva, the good & evil results of the planets in the birth chart, in order to benefit the people living in this world, propogates the details on earth.

The results, of planets in 12 bhavas from lagna and moon, as explained in detail  by Lord Shiva, having been consolidated by Goddess Parvati,
