Article by Dr. Paresh Desai
In the previous issue dated Feb 2008 of Saptarishis Astrology we have seen there are Eight Suryaat Nakshatra Bindus.
Their names are derived from Sanskrit Language. Each has a specific meaning and the meaning of each Suryaat bindu is coded in its name itself. We will try to understand it in short:-
- Vidhunmukh:
It is the first Suryaat Nakshatra and it occupies 5th Nakshatra from the Nakshatra of Sun. Its meaning is embedded in itself.
- It consists of two words. Vidhu and Mukh. Vidhu means opposite or in front of and Mukh means face. So Vidhunmukh means in front of the face or eyes.
- This means that Jaatak (native) visualizes the fruits of the house in which this bindu is present before he gets the fruits in reality. That means he sees things happening in front of his eyes that are going to happen in near future. He gets a sort of intuition of things that are going to happen in the near future. A person gets the feeling of something good is to happen before it has actually happened and no one can stop him from enjoying those good fruits. Similarly, when something bad is to happen, he will get feeling of it before it has happened and no amount of effort can stop that bad thing from happening.
- It is sort of intuition power regarding only that house of the horoscope.
2. Shul:
It is the second Suryaat Nakshatra Bindu and it occupies 8th Nakshatra from the Nakshatra of Sun. The meaning of the word Shul is pain.
- Pain is such an entity that only the person suffering from it will experience. No one else will be able to understand his pain. Only Jaatak suffers from it. E.g., a person gets a thorn prick. Only he will experience that pain and its intensity. This is limited to himself only. No one else will feel the sensation of pain and even if he describes the pain, others will not understand the feeling of pain the Jaatak is experiencing.
- Another example could be native suffering from the pangs of an abusive spouse, only he experiences it and his/her friends will not be able to understand the extent of his pain. Something akin to a man longing for God, only he understands why he is so crazy and desiring to merge with God, we cannot grasp his love and hunger to merge with God.
- In Sarvatobhadrachakra, the meaning of Shul is taken as Internal worries, unhappiness or sorrow, which only Jaatak suffers or experiences. One will have worries about the house in which this Shul Bindu is present. Even if he is getting good fruits of that house, he still will have worries regarding the fruits of that house. A man can be a billionaire but be extremely frustrated to have more wealth; we on the other hand would be thinking how come he has so much of wealth yet be worried regarding it. It is through Shul Bindu an astrologer has to identify & predict in a moment.
3. Sannipaat:
It is the third Suryaat Nakhsatra Bindu and occupies 14th Nakshatra from the Nakshatra of Sun. The meaning of Sannipaat is ‘same thoughts coming in the mind over and over, again and again’.
- Sometimes when elderly persons are on their deathbed, some thoughts take possession of their mind and they keep on talking about it repeatedly. Even if it is irrelevant at that point of time they keep asking some questions. Relatives will answer those questions but they will be satisfied and after sometime, the elder will ask the same question again & again. He cannot get rid of the thoughts however hard he may try. Therefore, it is the preoccupation of mind with some thoughts that a person cannot get rid of.
- Imagine Sannipaat in the 6th house of a person’s chart it will cause him/her constant worry regarding his enemies or legal cases/debts if he gets into such a scenario. This would constantly worry him with the same thought, as if the Repeat Mode has been clicked in ones media player, thus playing continuously & not stopping at all.
4. Ketu:
This is the 4th Suryaat Nakshatra Bindu and is 18th from the Nakshatra of Sun in the Birth Horoscope. The meaning of Ketu is Flag & in today’s terms it would be ‘Prestige & Honor’.
- Only countries have their flags. Flag is considered as the honor and pride of that country. Insult of a flag is the insult of that country. When man wins a war, he puts his flag on top as the sign of his victory & occupation by his country. Thus, a flag represents the country in its entirety. Therefore, in Sarvatobhadra Chakra, we have taken its meaning as Prestige or honor or name and fame.
- The house in which this Suryaat Bindu is present becomes instrumental in bringing honor and pride to that Jaatak. During the rotation of benefic or good planets in transit, Jaatak gets name, fame and prestige in his society, in his friends or business circle or in his country. He becomes famous and a public figure. Every one admires him and praises him for his outstanding work or contribution to the society or his country.
- However, during the transit of bad or malefic planets, he gets defame, he gets worries about his prestige in public or society, he gets famous for the wrong reasons. The very house which became instrumental in bringing him the honor, fame and prestige during the good transit becomes instrumental in bringing him dishonor, defamation, discredit and shame during the transit of malefic planets. He is dishonored in public and loses his fame and name in the society. One can take the example of Athletes winning Gold medals in Olympic only to be stripped off of their medals when they test positive for the banned drugs. Not only they but their country also looses its prestige and credibility.
5. Ulka:
It is the 5th Suryaat Nakshatra Bindu and occupies 21st Nakshatra from the Nakshatra of Sun. The meaning of the word Ulka is METEOR.
- When a meteor enters the atmosphere of the earth, it gets heated up due to the friction of the atmosphere and it starts burning. While burning, it also emits light due to fire. This light remains for the fraction of a second or for a very short time. Not all the persons watching the sky are lucky to see the falling meteors. Very few persons are lucky enough to see this light of falling meteors.
- In Sarvatobhadra Chakra, we have given importance to its light factor. When there is a light in the darkness of night, a person is able to see his surroundings. When there is no light in the darkness, a person is not able to fathom his surrounding, he is not able to see things around him or he is not able to find his way or see his future. There is confusion and helplessness. Similarly, the house in which this bindu is situated lights up during the rotation of benefic or good planets over this house. A person is able to see or understand his surrounding, whether it is favorable or unfavorable. He is able to see whether he is going to get good fruits or happiness regarding that house or bad fruits / unhappiness regarding that house.
- During the rotation of bad or malefic planets, there is no such light of a meteor burning. So the person is not able to visualize or understand things around him, he is confused in the darkness and does not know what to do to get the fruits of that house.
6. Kamp:
Kamp is the 6th Suryaat Nakshatra Bindu and it occupies 22nd Nakshatra from that of the Sun. Its meaning is Shivering or Trembling.
- When a person sees sudden danger, he starts trembling with fear. He is very much afraid of the situation.
- Therefore, in Sarvatobhadra Chakra, we have taken the meaning of Kamp as Fear. There is always the fear regarding the fruits of the house in which this bindu is situated. Even if a person is getting good fruits regarding this house, he still has the fear for the fruits of that house.
- If the house in which this Bindu is situated is weak or poor, it is natural to have worries and fear about the fruits of this house but the Kamp Bindu gives worries and fear about the fruits of the house even if it is nicely placed in the horoscope and even if the house is strong in the horoscope and these fruits are attached with the deeds of previous incarnation and they can not be changed.
7. Vajra:
It is the 7th Suryaat Nakshatra Bindu and occupies 23rd Nakshatra from that of the planet Sun. The meaning of Vajra is Hard, solid – Solid as a Rock.
- In Sarvatobhadra Chakra, we have taken its meaning as hard, strong, rock solid or emotionless. A person may become emotionless or ruthless in getting the fruits of the house in which this bindu is situated.
- He stands solid as a rock when obstacles come one after another.
- A person does not get panicky or pessimistic and does not leave any efforts to get the fruits of the house concerned. He is not afraid of any obstacles or worries that come in his way. He stands firm in any unfavorable situation like a rock.
8. Nirdhaat:
This is the 8th and last Suryaat Nakshatra Bindu, it occupies 24th Nakshatra from that of Sun in Jaataks Birth Horoscope. Nirdhaat means Determination, a strong or a firm decision.
- One cannot persuade him/her to change his/her decision in any manner whatsoever. A person takes decision for getting fruits of the house in which this bindu is placed. He is very firm in his decision and cannot be moved from that.
- He is determined to get fruits of that house in the manner he has decided and no one can make him change his decision or break his determination.
This way we have seen the meaning of Suryaat Nakshatra Bindus in brief. There are many other things to be considered while making predictions from Suryaat Nakshatra Bindus viz., strength of the house in which it is situated, the planets situated in that house, planets having aspect on that house and also the power of the ruler of that house.
Prediction from Suryaat Nakshatra Bindu Kundali
Let us consider The Suryaat Nakshatra Bindu Chart of the specimen, which we have prepared earlier. As mentioned in Part 1 of this series, the nakshatra is to be taken as a whole when we count the various bindus, which means say if a nakshatra has 3 padas in one sign & 1 pada in the next, then the respective Bindu will fall in both the signs. The Specimen Chart is as follows:
Now let us discuss as to how to predict from this Chart.
- Sannipaat in First House: First house is the house of Body and mind and Sannipaat means same thoughts coming in the mind repeatedly. These thoughts are such that he cannot get rid of them in spite of trying hard to remove them from his mind. Since this is the house of body, native will be constantly thinking of his body. How to keep body fit and healthy, what to eat and what not to eat so that he does not fall ill and also constantly thinking about exercises to keep body fit and healthy. That means the natives mind will always be occupied with the thoughts of his body and its fitness. If the house is not well placed in the horoscope, he will have constant worries about his health and also of how to improve health and keep his body as fit as possible. He keeps on thinking of plans of diet and exercise to keep his body fit, strong and healthy and is very much determined to stick to his plans.
As we know, this house is also the house of Mind. Therefore, Sannipaat here will give him strong determination to do and complete the work he undertakes. If he decides to do something, thoughts of that constantly keep coming in his mind until his work is finished.
- Sannipaat in Second House: Second house is the house of money, wealth, financial matters and family members. Sannipaat gives this person determination to earn a lot of money, create lot of wealth for himself and for his family members. He gets constant thoughts to earn lot of money for the happiness of his family members. His mind is constantly full of the thoughts of becoming very rich and wealthy. He will be determined to achieve his goal and his family members will support him to do that.
- Ketu in Third House: Third house is the house of Enterprise and brothers and sisters. Ketu means prestige, honor. So the person will always think of doing something new all the time, which will bring him name, fame and honor. His prestige will be increased in his society or country by his ability to come out with some new enterprises or ideas. He may get prestige because of his brothers and sisters also and vice versa. He will use his brain and knowledge to come out with new ideas which will increase his prestige in his society as the Lord of 3rd house is present in 5th
- Ulka in Fourth House: Fourth house is the house of happiness, mother, property and vehicles. Ulka means temporary light, which he may or may not be able to see. Whenever there is a rotation of benefic planets, he will be able to see the opportunities to increase his happiness or he is able to see the worries regarding his happiness. Nevertheless, during the rotation of malefic planets, he is not able to understand the situation and is confused about the happiness in his life or about the stability (4H) in his life. He is not sure as to when he will get happiness of having good and proper house and vehicle in his life. He is also confused about the happiness from mother i.e. about the relations with his mother during rotation of malefic planets. However, this confusion will not remain all the time.
- Ulka in Fifth House: Fifth house is the house of intelligence and study. As Ulka denotes temporary light, person will be able to decide which study he wants to pursue during favorable rotation of planets but during the rotation of malefic planets, he is not able to decide upon the stream of education he needs to pursue. He also gets confused in taking proper decisions during bad rotation, which brings darkness all around, but during favorable transit, he will see some light in which he can take proper decisions. In addition, there are other Suryaat Bindus in this house. They are Kamp and Vajra.
- Kamp in Fifth House: Kamp means fear, worries. Person suffers from chronic fear about the success in his exams, whether he will be able to complete his studies properly or not. He gets fear and worries regarding his decisions. His mind is full of worries and fear all the time whether justified or not. This is also the house of children, so he will have fear and worries regarding well-being and progress of his children.
- Vajra in Fifth House: Vajra means hard, solid or emotionless and fifth house is the house of intellect, study and children. Person has to become hard or emotionless to take certain decisions. If he brings in emotions while taking decisions, he may not take proper decisions. For his studies also, he has to work as per his schedule and he has to be emotionally strong to complete his studies, otherwise he may not be able to complete his studies. If he does not concentrate on his studies, he may not get good results. Therefore, he has to take a decision and adhere to that no matter what comes up. As this is the house of children also, he may have to take hard decisions for the welfare of his children.
- Vajra in Sixth House: As the sixth house is the house of illness and enemies, the person has to sometimes become hard or strong to fight his enemies or to remove obstacles which may come in his way. If he thinks emotionally, then he may not be able to fight his enemies properly and may suffer some damage or loss. This is the advice an astrologer needs to give to client who has Vajra in 6th House & is asking how to fight his enemies through soft approach or hard approach.
- Nirdhaat in Sixth House: Nirdhaat means to make strong decision or to act firmly or with determination. This person is determined to fight out all the obstacles that may be created by his enemies or by his illness. He is determined to stay fit and healthy so that ill health does not come in his way.
- Vidhunmukh in Ninth House: Vidhunmukh means to visualize things, which are going to happen in near future. Since the ninth house is the house of Fortune, person comes to know about the opportunities of rise of fortune that are going to come his way beforehand. If something untoward is going to happen about his fortune, he will have such feelings beforehand. Thus, this person comes to know about the rise or fall of his fortune before it actually happens.
- Vidhunmukh in Tenth House: Tenth house is the house of Karma or business and earning or livelihood and Vidhunmukh means to visualize things before it happens. This Jaatak will come to know about the opportunities, which will come his way for progress of his business or for earning money, and also about the worries regarding his business or work which is going to come in the near future. Since this is the Suryaat Nakshatra Bindu, he will not be able to change anything. Remedies will not be that fruitful.
- Shul in Eleventh House: Eleventh house is the house of benefits, advantages and prestige and Shul means internal worries. Therefore, this person will have worries about benefits or gains in his life all the time. He will have worries about getting benefits of the work or business he is doing. Even if he is getting proper benefits of his work, he will have internal or imaginary worries whether he will get this type of benefits through out his life or not. He will have worries regarding his prestige also. Even if he completes his job nicely, he will have imaginary worries about the appreciation of the job he has done. This way, Shul Bindu gives internal worries or imaginary worries about the benefits of the work he is doing and also about his prestige in his society or friend circle.
This way if one thinks of the matters, which a house represents, and the meaning of the Suryaat Nakshatra Bindu present in it and applies the characteristics of the SNB to the things, which that particular house represents than one can easily give prediction for that house. One has to endure the bad fruits of that house the SNB is giving which is mandatory, whether one likes it or not and also if one is going to get good fruits as per the SNB, then no one can stop one from enjoying that because one is destined to enjoy those good fruits.
