The necessary ingredient of our Indian philosophy or ‘Vedantik’ Darshana’ is underlying in the Karma theory. As per Lord Sri Krishna’s Verse no on e can sit for a while without doing any Karma. Karma has a wider range of meaning. It is the Karma which is called the ‘Purusartha’ in Sanskrit. It has a great role to play in shaping one’s destiny. And, hence for the purpose of this article we will talk about the profession or the livelihood of the individual.
According to the general rule of Astrology 10th house, the lord, its dispositor, the aspects there of decides the livelihood of any individual. The 2nd house there from i.e. the 11th house signifies gain, income etc. Saturn is the owner of the two succeeding signs i.e. 10th & the 11th house of the natural Zodiac. So, the mystical planet Saturn has a definite role to play in one’s professional sphere. Sage Bhrigu has given paramount importance to the natural zodiac’s different houses according to their sign lord. Sage Satyacharya also paid due attention to the planet Saturn by saying ‘Karaka of Karma’ etc. As according to the principle of Bhrigu Nadi ‘Saturn aspected by planets or the planets aspecting Saturn’s 2nd house denotes the working places or the profession of the native’. This has a larger meaning. We should not misinterpret those lines by giving some narrow meanings. What the Sage probably intended to indicate to us is that the Saturn is desire-less and when he is aspected by some other planets (nadi aspect) or is associated with some other planets he will be influenced by the same or when he is alone, not aspected by any planet it will be enriched with the energy or energies of the next house. For detail understanding one should have the brief idea about the nature of all the planets and the Rasi Karakatwas. All the twelve Rasis have their own nature like Mesha is a fiery, dry, technical, has the ability to change the form by fire, powerful, dominating etc. etc.

One can notice here that Saturn is placed in Tula (Libra), a venusian sign, aspected by Mercury (5th & 9th, the Nadi aspect), posited in the same Tatwa i.e. Airy sign. So, it is sure that his profession will be business because Mercury is a planet who is giver of business. In our Indian Astrology Mercury is known as a ‘baniya’ i.e. a trader. Now, the question is about the type of business. 2nd from Saturn is Mars, the lord of the 12th & 5th house placed in his own house, hence the Mars is strong. Mars is known as the ‘Bhumiputra’ i.e. the son of the Earth. Mars is a fiery planet. Vrishchika Rasi falls under Jalatattwa. It is the 2nd sign from natal Saturn. The native has 3 brick manufacturing units. For preparing bricks soil and water both are needed and overall fire, the main karakattwa of Mars is needed to shape them from flabby one to solid form. There is the interchange between Venus and Jupiter. The 2nd house from Saturn is also influenced by Venus (trine), the another indicator of business and money. If one follows the rules of retrogression Saturn will give the result of the previous house which is Kanya. Again it is a business oriented sign. The native has also two salt factories. Where machinery works are very much needed. Mars is the planet of machineries. One may notice here that Mercury and Moon is placed in 7th house to each other. Moon is also a karaka for watery substance. Salt is prepared from the sea water only. So, Saturn is also linked with Moon through Mercury. In the 2nd house Mars is strongly placed and hence the native is engaged in those types of business.

Few books have accorded salt to Moon. – SA
This native’s case is very interesting. He and alongwith his friends tried so many things, business etc. but failed miserably. They have a wine shop. When they were running it with the workers it was not in a good position. Sale of goods was Rs 3-4000 per day. His father was did not intend to send him to the shop as it is a wine shop. After proper advice, understanding the matter astrologically he became ready. As soon as he joined the shop it got the life and now-a-days the sale has come up in Rs 70-80000 per day.
One can notice here that Saturn, the indicator of profession is lonely posited in the sign Gemini, a Mercurian sign, the sign of business activities. The 2nd house from Saturn is occupied by Venus and Moon, aspected by Jupiter, the 8th & 11th lord, and Mars, the 7th & 12th lord (5th, Nadi aspect). Venus indicates luxury goods, sophisticated goods and Moon is for drinks, liquid etc. Mars is chemical and Jupiter also is posited in a watery sign. Though Venus and Moon does not augur a good financial position but Cancer or Karkata is the exception. This is one of the special rule of Sage Bhrigu. The reason is Moon is used to be exalted in Taurus (Vrishaba) which is the house of Venus and, Pisces is the exaltation sign of Venus whose owner Jupiter himself is used to be exalted in Cancer (Karkata).
So, in this case it played a great role. The 2nd house from Saturn is of watery nature and watery planets are posited there and the native is earning a lot in selling the foreign liquors as their shop is a big one and destined to sell the foreign liquors only.
Case 3: Bill Gates
Saturn is exalted in this chart and with his bosom friend Venus and with Sun in the house of Venus – A money oriented sign. Venus in Indian Astrology is called ‘Sukra’ Sukra is the Karaka of ‘Sukha’ i.e. material pleasure. In the 2nd house from Saturn Rahu is posited. Rahu indicates Shadow arts, Camera techniques or computer techniques. Rahu is for Vast and mammoth transactions. The sign lord or sign dispositor of Rahu is Mars who himself is a planet related with machines and machineries. Mars is with Mercury in Mercury’s most favorable sign. Mercury rules the communication as it is the owner of the 3rd house of the natural zodiac. 3rd house is also important for communication especially for business activities.
All these factors suggest that this native will be expert in mammoth transaction related with machineries. One more interesting fact is that the planet Venus also is for sophisticated goods, ultramodern equipment’s etc. As the planet Rahu is involved in the 2nd from Saturn, it gave software related profession and Bill Gates brought in the OS called Windows.

In the above chart Saturn is placed in the sign Simha (Leo) aspected by Mars (being trine to Saturn), Jupiter is retrograde, according to the rules of retrogression it should give some effects of the previous house also. Jupiter is termed as the ‘Devaguru’ i.e. the master of the Gods. He is a teacher who has plenty of knowledge or vast knowledge. In the 2nd house from Saturn, Mercury the planet of intelligence is posited. Moon is for emotion, for writing, imagination etc. Moon + Mercury can give one a very good imaginative power. Jupiter is knowledge and is related with Mars, the planet of power i.,e. Shakti etc. Moon+Mercury is for thinking power, imaginative power etc. The lady was a good writer of crime & mystery. She was called the ‘queen of crime & mystery.’ She was very famous for her crime stories. The planetary arrangement in her chart shows her capability of writing crime stories and not the stories of romance.

Here, one can notice that Saturn is exalted, Venus and Mercury is posited in the 2nd house from Saturn. Ketu is placed in the 5th house from Venus+Mercury. According to Sage Jamini ‘Ketu Na Ganitagyan’ (Ketu is a mathematician). The sign Lord of Ketu is Jupiter who himself is a ‘Daibagyan’ an Astrologer, aspecting Mars by his 7th aspect.and posited in a mystical house i.e. in capricorn. Mars is aspecting Saturn+Sun with his 4th aspect and making relationship with Venus+Mercury (5th & 9th relation) Ketu + Ven + Mercury+ Mars is a great combination for a good Mathematican. Jupiter’s aspect is there. Thus he was a great numerologist, palmist and a great Astrologer. As we know that Ketu is a planet for spiritual pursuit. Jupiter give him enough knowledge in Astrology. He is one of the all time greatest Astrologer.

It is with Jupiter in a technical type of Rasi (Makaram has also some sorts of technicality under its Karakatwa). Jupiter is the Guru or the guide. The antive is a principal in a Technical college situated at Gorakhpur, U.P., India. More interestingly, she is a Astrolover, has gone through various astrobooks and spiritual books. Ketu, the spiritual enlightener is with Jupiter and Saturn. This is a good Yoga for next brith.
