नक्षत्रचरणजातफलदर्शिका

मुरादाबादस्थ पं० श्यामसुन्दरलालत्रिपाठिकृत

अथ द्वात्रिंशोऽध्यायः॥३२॥

Chapter 32

पुष्यनक्षत्रफ्लम्।

सिव उवाच॥

Lord Shiva Says,

पापेन जायते व्याधिः पापेनैवासुतो भवेत्। पापेन जायते मूर्खः पापेनैव दरिद्रता॥१॥

Humans suffer from diseases because of sin’s they commit and these sin’s itself make them devoid of progeny and the same sin’s make them fools and suffer from penury||1||

पूर्वजन्मकृतं यत्तु पापं वा पुण्यमेव वा।इह जन्मनि भो देवि भुज्यते सर्वदेहिभिः॥२॥

Hei Devi, the Karma (deeds) of the past lives (whether good or bad) makes the beings experience the fruit of it in the present birth.||2||

पुण्येन जायते विद्द्या पुण्येन जायते सुतः। पुण्येन सुन्दरी नारी पुण्येन लभते श्रियम्॥३॥

By just doing virtuous deeds, one can be learned (acquire education), beget sons (progeny) and a beautiful wife and also can acquire wealth.||3||

अथातः संप्रवक्ष्यामि पुष्यनक्षत्रजं फलम्। तत्सर्वे शृणु मे देवि यत्कृतं पूर्वजन्मनि॥४॥

Hei Devi, now I will tell you about the past lives Karma (good and bad) of the Pushya Nakshatra 1^st Charan natives and the fruits of it, listen carefully.||4||

मध्यदेशे वरारोहे धनाढयो वल्लवोऽवसत्। हंसकेतुरिति ख्यातो भार्या तस्य तु केकयी॥५॥

Hei Varaarohe, in Madhya Desha lived the wealthy milk sellers called Hamsa Ketu and his wife name was Kekayi. ||5||

बहवो वृषभास्तस्य महिष्यो गास्तथा प्रिये। धर्मकर्मरतः शूद्रो विक्रयेद् गोवृषादिकम्॥६॥

Hei Priye, he had many Ox, cattle’s and buffaloes. He was prompt in his work and used to trade these animals.||6||

घृततक्रस्य भो देवि। विक्रयं कुरुते सदा॥ एको वैश्यो धनाढ्यो वै तस्य मित्रं तदाऽभवत्॥७॥

Hei Devi, he used to sell ghee and curd too and he also had friendship with a rich Vaishya’s (a trader).||7||

महाप्रीतिस्तयोर्जाता बहुवर्षप्रमाणतः। एकदा तु निशायां वै शूद्रेण वणिकः प्रिये॥८॥

शुभरत्नादिलोभेन कटारेण तदा हतः। द्रव्यं सर्वं गृहितं तु भूमिमध्ये तथा धृतम्॥९॥

Hei Priye, the friendship continued for many years. Once at night the Shudra (Hamsa Ketu) because of his greed towards the Vaishya’s wealth, chopped his head and took all the wealth and interred it ||8-9||

तन्मध्ये तु षडंशस्य व्ययं कुर्याद् दिने दिने। बहुवर्षगते काले शूद्रा मृत्युवशोऽभवत्॥१०॥

He spent 1/6^th part of the wealth for himself daily. As the years passed by the Shudra passed away.||10||

पातयामास घोरे तं यमदूतो यमाज्ञया। षष्टिवर्षसहस्राणि भुक्त्वा नरकयातनाम्॥११॥

ततो जातो महादेवि राक्षसो गहने वने| पुनः शृगालयोनिं च मानुषत्वं भवेत् पुनः॥१२॥

After his demise according to the instruction of Yamaraja, the Dhutaas sent him to a dreadful hell and for 60,000 years he was severely tortured and then took birth as a Demon in a deep forest. Then took birth as Fox and then as a human being.||11-12||

धन-धान्यसमायुक्तो भार्या जाता तु या पुरा। वन्ध्यारोगसमायुक्ता कन्य का चैव जायते॥१३॥

He was blessed with richness and because of the inherent qualities of his past life he married the same girl (who was his wife in the past birth). But was only delivering female issues which made her identical with Vandhya¹ kind of woman.||13||

तस्य रोगो भवेत् पश्चाद् विविधश्च वयोऽन्तरे। पूर्वजन्मनि भो देवि मित्रं च निहतं यतः॥१४॥

Hei Devi, in his old age he suffered from many diseases. The past life Paapa Karma of killing his friend||14||

तत्पापेन च भो देवि पुत्रो नैवोपजायते। महिषी पुत्रघाताच्च कम्परोगः प्रजायते॥१५॥

Makes him devoid of sons or will beget sons who will not live long and the sin of killing the buffalo calf makes him suffer from Kampa² Roga .||15||

तस्य शान्तिं प्रवक्ष्यामि शृणु देवि सुशोभने। षडंशं वै ततो दानं विदुषे ब्राह्मणाय च॥१६॥

Hei Devi, now listen to the Atonement that I am going to tell carefully, Donate 1/6^th part of his wealth to a learned Brahman.||16||

गां तथा महिषीं दद्याद् विधिवद् भोजयेद् द्विजान्। गायत्री-जातवेदाभ्यां द्विलक्षं च जपं ततः॥१७॥

Then donate cattle and buffaloes, with utmost respect, arrange a religious lunch to all the Brahmans and chant Gayathri mantra and Jaatavedhase mantra for two lakh times.||17||

कुण्डे त्रिकोणके चैव होमं वै कारयेत्ततः। जपस्यैव दशांशेन हवनादिकमाचरेत्॥१८॥

Then make a Havan Kund which is triangular in shape and perform 1/10^th part of Havan, and Tarpan and Marjan in 1/10^th manner.||18||

ततो वै प्रतिमां कुर्याद् वैश्यस्यैव विधानतः। द्वादशेन पलेनैव सुव्र्णस्य विशेषतः॥१९॥

Afterwards make a statue of Vaishya with 12 Palas of gold.||19||

पूजयेत् पूर्वजैर्मन्त्रैस्ततो विप्राय दापयेत्। एवं कृते न सन्देहः पुत्रो भवति नाऽन्यथा॥२०॥

Worship the statue with the above said mantra and donate it to a Brahman. By doing this accordingly no doubt will beget sons||20||

सर्वरोगः क्षयं याति नाऽत्र कार्या विचारणा॥२१॥

And will be relieved from all kinds of diseases no matter what.||21||

Translator’s Notes:

1 – Vandhya Dosha is attributed to a woman incapable of child bearing or a barren woman or a sterile woman. In verses 13 Lord Shiva says a woman delivering only female issues is also equal to a woman with Vandhya Dosha. So according to Karma Vipaaka Samhita, Woman incapable of giving birth to a boy baby is called Vandhya. And a woman delivering dead children is also called Vandhya.

2 – Kampa Roga is a morbid affliction of the windy humor, maybe shivering or trembling.

इति श्रीकर्मविपाकसंहितायां पार्वती-शिवसम्वादे पुषयनक्षत्रस्य प्रथमचरण-प्रायश्चित्त कथनं नाम द्वात्रिंशोऽध्यायः॥३२॥

Thus ends the 32^nd Chapter of Karma Vipaaka Samhita containing Atonement’s for Pushya Nakshatra 1^st Charan.

अथ त्रयस्त्रिंशोऽध्यायः॥३३॥

Chapter 33

शिव उवाच।

Lord Shiva says,

अथाऽतः सम्प्रवक्ष्यामि शृणु देवि। विशेषतः। आदौ पापफलं देवि भुजयते देव-मानुषैः॥१॥

Hei Devi, I will now shed some light on the fruits of the deeds done in the past which has to be experienced not only by human beings but also by Gods, listen to it carefully.||1||

पश्चात् पुण्यफलं देवि। परलोक इहाऽपि वा| एकः शिल्पकरो देवि। वसते हस्तिनापुरे॥२॥

Hei Devi, the fruits of the virtuous deeds of the past life is experienced in Iha (Earth) and Para (the other world). A sculpture used to live in Hastinaa Pura.||2||

हेमदास इति ख्यातो भार्याद्वयसमन्वितः।प्रत्यहं शिल्पकार्यं च करोति व्ययकारणात्॥३॥

He was famous by name Hemadaas and he had two wives. He used to carve sculptures for is livelihood.||3||

काशीतः पश्चिमे देवि। स्वकर्मनिरतः सदा। अश्वत्यानां च वृक्षाणां छेदनानि चकार सः॥४॥

Hei Devi, he was doing his work towards west of Kaashi and used to cut Peepal trees too.||4||

एवं बहुगते काले शिल्पकारो मृतः प्रिये। नरके तस्य पतनं षष्टिवर्षसहस्रकम्॥५॥

He did this for a long time, when he passed away he was sent to hell and was tortured therein for about 60,000 years.||5||

पत्नीभ्यां सह भो देवि यातो योनिं बिडालकीम्। बिडालयोनिं वै भुक्त्वा सरटस्तु ततोऽभवत्॥ ६ ॥

After being redeemed from the hell the couple took birth as a Cat, then as an Ox.||6||

पुनः स्यान्मानुषो देवि। मध्यदेशे सुपूजितः। पूर्वजन्मनि वृक्षाणां छेदनं प्रत्यहं कृतम्॥७॥

Then took birth as a Human in Madhya Desha and because of the sin of cutting Peepal tree in his past birth||7||

तेन पापेन भो देवि। पुत्रो नैव प्रजायते। कन्यकाश्चैव सञ्जाताः स्त्रिया रोगः सुदारुणः॥८॥

He was devoid of sons and only had female issues. His wife always suffered from illness||8||

शरीरे महती पीडा रात्रौ निद्रा न लभ्यते। कन्यकायाश्च वैधव्यं वृक्षच्छेदनतः प्रिये॥९॥

And because of this illness she was not able to sleep at night and because of the Paapa Karma of cutting Peepal tree his daughters became widows.||9||

तस्य शान्तिं प्रवक्ष्यामि ततः पापनिवर्त्तनम्। चतुर्थाशम् तु वै दानं ब्राह्मणाय प्रदापयेत्॥१०॥

I will tell the means to Atone to get cleansed from the Sin’s, Donate 1/4^th part of his wealth to a Brahman||10||

दशायुतं जपं कुर्याद् गायत्रीमूलमन्त्रतः। पलपञ्चसुवर्णस्य वृक्षं वै कारयेत्ततः॥११॥

And chant Gayathri mantra for 10,000 times and with 5 Palas of gold make a tree||11||

पूजयित्वा यथान्यायं वृक्षं विप्राय दापयेत्। पञ्चधेनुं तथा दद्याद्वृषभं स्वर्णभूषितम् ॥१२॥

Then perform puja to that golden tree accordingly and donate it to a Brahman and also donate 5 cattle’s and an Ox decorated with ornaments.||12||

कूष्माण्डजं नारिकेलं च पञ्चरत्नसमन्वितम्। गङ्गामध्ये तु दातव्यं श्वेतवस्त्रेण ॥१३॥

Fill the ash pumpkin or a tender coconut with the Pancha Ratnas and donate it in the midst of river Ganga which will destroy all his Paapa Karma||13||

सर्वव्याधिः क्षयं याति कन्यका च सुखान्विता। पुत्रैश्चैव प्रजायेत नाऽत्र कार्या विचारणा॥१४॥

And gives cure from all kinds of diseases and the daughters too will live happily, will beget sons no matter what.||14||

इति श्रीकर्मविपाकसंहितायां पार्वती-हरसम्वादे पुष्यनक्षत्रस्य द्वितीयचरणप्रायश्चित्तकथनं नाम त्रयसिंवशिऽध्यायः॥३३॥

Thus ends the 33^nd Chapter of Karma Vipaaka Samhita containing Atonement’s for Pushya Nakshatra 2^nd Charan.

अथ चतुस्त्रिंशोऽध्यायः॥३४॥

Chapter 34

शिव उवाच।

Lord Shiva says,

मधयदेशे वरारोहे। लोहकारश्च स्थितवान्। हेमकारेतिविख्यातो विष्णुव्रत रतस्सदा॥१॥

Hei Shive, in Madhya Desha there lived a blacksmith and was popularly known as Hemakaara was a devotee of Lord Vishnu.||1||

पत्नी तस्य प्रभा नाम पतिशुश्रूषणे रआ। धनधान्यसमायुक्तो महालोभेन संयुतः॥२॥

His wife name was Prabha and was very keen taking care of him. They were blessed with abundant wealth and were greedy too.||2||

पुरे विख्यातयवनस्तत्र नित्यं स तोष्ठति। गौरेका लोहकारेण बाल्यतः पालिता शिवे ॥३॥

Their also lived a Yavana¹ (Mahomedan).  There was a cattle with the Blacksmith which he had taken care from his childhood.||3||

एकस्मिन् दिवसे पङ् के मग्ना च गौर्वरा।तच्छुत्वा लोहकारस्तु न गततत्र वै शिवे॥४॥

One day that cattle got stuck in the slush and the blacksmith heard the information and did not came to rescue the cattle.||4||

मृता रात्रौ तदा देवि। पङ् के वैतरणी च सा। बहुकालेन भो देवि।मरणं तस्य वै गृहे॥५॥

Hei Devi, the cattle died in the slush on that night and after some days the blacksmith too passed away.||5||

तस्य पत्नी सती जाता सत्यलोकं गतौ च तौ। दशलक्षमितं वर्षं सत्यलोके च तस्थिवान्॥६॥

And his wife was a chaste woman by virtue of which the couples attained Swarga Loka and enjoy all comforts for 10 lakh years.||6||

पुनः पुण्यक्षये जाते मर्त्यलोकं तदाऽभवत्। मानुषः शुभजन्मा च धन-धान्यसमन्वितः॥७॥

पत्न्या सह वरारोहे। ब्राह्मणानां च सेवकः। पूर्वजन्मनि देवेशि। पङ्के मग्ना च यत्र गौः॥८।

When the Punya karma started to languish, both too birth on the Earth in a wealthy family and had utmost respect towards Brahmans. The deeds that he had committed in his past birth when the cattle got stuck in the slush||7-8||

न गतस्तत्र भो देवि। तस्मात् पुत्रो न जायते। कन्या जाता पुरा देवि। तस्या मृत्युश्च जायते॥९॥

Where he didn’t went for the rescue of the cattle. Hei Devi, the fruit of this sin made him devoid of sons and his wife delivered female baby at first which didn’t live long.||9||

तदर्थ वाटिकां कूपं पथि मध्ये च कारयेत्। कुर्याच्चैव तुलादानं पात्राणि विविधानि च॥१०॥

To cleanse that Paapa Karma need to construct tanks, wells, reservoirs etc., besides the path, and donate a balance, variety of utensils.||10||

गोयुग्मं घृतकुम्भं च ब्राह्मणाय प्रदापयेत्। गायत्रीमन्त्रजाप्यं च लक्षमेकं तु कारयेत्॥११॥

Then donate 2 cows which look same and a pot filled with clarified butter to a Brahman and chant Gayathri mantra for one lakh times||11||

होमं कुर्यात् ततो देवि। तिल-धान्यादि-तण्डुलैः। ब्राह्मणान् भोजयेद् देवि। शतसंख्यान् वरानने॥ १२॥

Then perform Havan with Sesamum, Barley and Rice and arrange religious lunch 100 Brahmans.||12||

एवं कृत्वा वरारोहे। पुत्रो भवति नाऽन्यथा। वन्ध्यात्वं नाशमायाति व्याधिनाशो भवेद् ध्रुवम्॥१३॥

Hei Varaarohe, by doing this accordingly the couple will definitely beget sons and will be cleansed from Vandhya Dosha and be relieved from illness.||13||

इति श्रिकर्मविपाकसंहितायां पार्वती-शिवसम्वादे पुष्यनक्षत्रस्य तृतीयचरणप्रायश्चित्तकथनं नाम चतुस्त्रिंशोऽध्यायः॥३४॥

Thus ends the 34^nd Chapter of Karma Vipaaka Samhita containing Atonement’s for Pushya Nakshatra 3^rd Charan.

अथ पञ्चत्रिंशोऽध्यायः॥३५॥

Chapter 35

शिव उवाच।

Lord Shiva says,

अयोध्यानगराद् देवि। पूर्वे क्रोशचतुर्दशे। तत्राऽप्येकोऽवसच्छाककारो वैडुम्बराभिधः॥१॥

Hei Devi, towards east of Ayodhya Nagara, 14 Kosha far, lived a gardener called Yaidumbur. ||1||

चित्रा तस्याऽभवत् पत्नी पतिसेवापरायणा। शाककारो महासाधुर्विष्णुभक्तिरतः सदा॥२॥

His wife name was Chitra and was chaste woman very obedient to the husband, the gardener was virtuous in nature and was a devotee of Lord Vishnu||2||

गुरुसेवारतो नित्यं प्रत्यहं शाकविक्रयी।एका मार्जारिका श्वेता पालिता तेन वै हता॥३॥

And used to serve Gurus (Pious People) and was honest in his work. He had a white color cat which he was taking care of.||3||

सगर्भा तत्र जाता वधं तस्याः स चाकरोत्। चत्वारो बालकास्तस्या मृताः कुक्षौ तदानघे॥४॥

He killed it because of his anger and the four little ones in its womb to died.||4||

ततो बहुतिथे काले शूद्रस्य मरणं शिवे। यातो वै तमसातीरे तीर्थे मृयुर्मम प्रिये॥५॥

So past many years and the Shudra (gardener) to pass the way near the banks of the river Tamasa||5||

विष्णुभक्तिरतो यस्मात्तीर्थे मृत्युफलादपि। गतोऽसौ परलोकं तु भुक्त्वा स्वर्गे तु वैभवम्॥६॥

And since he was a devotee of Vishnu, and died near the banks of river Tamasa, by virtue of which he attained Swarga Loka instead of going to Yama Loka.||6||

षष्टिवर्षसहस्राणि पुनः पुण्यक्षयो यदा। तदा वृषभयोनिश्च मर्त्यलोकेऽभवत्पुनः॥७॥

He enjoyed Swarga Loka for 60,000 years and when his Punya Karma started to languish he took birth in the Mrithyu Loka as an Ox||7||

मानुषत्वं ततो यातो धन-धान्यसमन्वितः। सुन्दरो विष्णुभक्तित्वात् पुत्रेण रहितः शिवे॥८॥

And then took Manushya Janma and was blessed with abundant wealth. Hey Shive, though he was a devotee of Lord Vishnu he was devoid of Progeny||8||

गर्भाणां पतनं जातं यतो मार्जारिका हता। सगर्भा च तदा देवि। ततो गर्भो विनश्यति॥९॥

Because of the wicked deed of killing a pregnant cat made his wife too abort every time.||9||

तस्य शान्तिं प्रवक्ष्यामि शृणु त्वं गिरिजे वरे। गृहवित्तादर्धभागं वै ब्राहणाय प्रदापयेत्॥१०॥

Hei Girije, I will now tell the atonement’s to be done, listen to it carefully. He has to donate half of his wealth to a Brahman||10||

तदा पापं क्षयं याति नाऽत्र कार्या विचारणा। शिवार्चनं कारयित्वा रौप्यमार्जारिकां तथा॥११॥

Which destroys all his sins no matter what. Performing Shiva Puja and make a statue of cat in silver||11||

पत्नानांसप्तकैः कुर्यात् सगर्भां विमलां शुभां। पूजयित्वा ततो देवि। ततो दद्याद्विजन्मने ॥१२॥

With hundred Palas which should look like bearing the little ones in its womb. Performing Puja for that statue (of pregnant cat) and donate it to a Brahman.||12||

लक्षजाप्यं ततो देवि। त्र्यम्बकेण विशेषतः। ततो भवति वै शुद्धः पूर्वपापान्न संशयः॥१३॥

Hei Devi, then chant Triyambaka mantra for one lakh times which will cleanse the Paapa Karmas of the past without doubt||13||

पुत्रो भवति वै देवि।रोगाणां संक्षयस्तथा॥१४॥

And will beget sons and also be cure from illness.||14||

इति श्रीकर्मविपाकसंहितायां पार्वती-शिवसम्वादेपुष्यनक्षत्रस्य चतुर्थचरण प्रायश्चित्तकथनं नाम पञ्चत्रिंशोऽध्यायः॥३५॥

Thus ends the 35^nd Chapter of Karma Vipaaka Samhita containing Atonement’s for Pushya Nakshatra 4^th Charan.
