Oriental Medicine treats the Person and not the Disease
In Oriental Medicine, it is important to develop intuition which helps to co-ordinate the past patterns with the present and future. One should not isolate any pattern but integrate it into the whole. One must remember in Oriental Medicine that one does not treat the disease but the person. One does not treat a part but the whole. In Western Medicine, cause and effect play an important role, whilst in Oriental Medicine, one effect can have many causes. Above all, one must try and find the root of the cause.
