Article by Sharad C Joshi
We have discussed various charts of some common people and some famous personalities. I shall now summarize my conclusions and present the theory in a nutshell. This theory supplements, further emphasis and proves in depth the indications of other astrology principles and theories.
Our Sidereal astrology is based on yogas, and our ancient granths have described many yogas and its results. Yoga can be formed by combinations of planet and sign, or planet and house position with particular sign, or combinations of planet to planet. In general sense, yoga means additional effect in a particular matter or it indicates some special peculiarities in the chart.
In Tropical system, yoga is based on aspects, special formation of aspects, and in a particular chart, if fixed star is related to cusp or other objects provided other conditions are fulfilled.
In Stellar System [K.P], Shri Krishnamurthy has given only one yoga and it’s called ‘PUNARBHOO’ yoga, and this yoga forms only when there is a combination of Saturn and Moon in any form. Except this yoga, late Krishnamurthy has not considered a single yoga from any other system.
My experience leads me to give some yoga theory in K.P. system, which I have been inspired by following observations while I studied charts.
- In Nirayana System, it is said that planet in Rasi Tulya Navmansh, for e.g. In Aries sign Libra Navmansh is there, and in Libra there is Aries Navmansh, it is called ‘Rasi Tulya Navmansh’. While in Aries there is no Makar Navmansh, but in Makar there is a Aries Navmansh. So, it is not called Rasi tulya Navmansh.
- In Sayana system, Fixed star is ruled by combinations of more than two or three planets, and this group of planets combinely affect related point in the chart.
- In K.P., late Krishnamurthy has given suggestion that results of any Dasa lord- Bhukti lord and Anthra lords will be activated, when same dasa rulers transit through one of sign or star or sub of same rulers along with two luminaries. Eg. – A native is running dasa of Mars, bhukti of Venus and Anthra of Mercury, then one can expect the results while all these dasa rulers and two luminaries with Asc. Transit through this joint rulers zodiac, or dasa rulers transit through in sign or star or sub of dasa rulers and Sun-Moon-Asc should transit through joint rulers of dasa rulers zodiac. Eg. One can expect results while dasa rulers Mars, Venus and Mercury transit in either signs, star or sub of them and Sun should transit at that time, from following:
Zodiac Position :
Aries 24˚00’00” to 25˚53’20” ruled by Mars – Venus – Mercury.
Scorpio 19˚20’01” to 21˚33’20” ruled by Mars – Mercury – Venus.
Libra 00˚00’00” to 01˚53’20” ruled by Venus – Mars – Mercury.
Gemini 02˚40’01” to 04˚53’20” ruled by Mercury – Mars – Venus.
So, from above, one can see that, though zodiac degrees are different, but their rulers as a Sign – Star – Sub are same. So, in transit any one of above zodiac position can give results when it’s transit by Sun, provided other conditions match.
In above exampled we have seen that, all joint rulers have some zodiac position for all three rulers, but it is not possible in all cases. Suppose someone passed through Sun dasa Rahu bhukti and Saturn anthra, in such cases it’s only in Makar and Kumbha sign one will get common rulers zodiac, but not in Sun sign wheras Rahu has no sign.
Suppose someone is running Mars dasa Ketu bhukti and Rahu anthra, and it’s not possible that every time this period is in April month only, because only in Aries sign Ketu star is there, but it’s not possible at all times. So, in such cases Shri Krishnamurthy has given a solution that one can consider Star – Sub position for Sun transit, instead of Sign – Star – Sub. So, in above cases whenever Sun enters Mars star – Ketu sub or Ketu star – Mars sub then one may get the expected result, if other conditions are matched.
In Gemini-Libra-Kumbha 01˚53’21” to 02˚40′ are ruled by Mars star and Ketu sub. In Aries-Leo-Dhanu sign 04˚46’41” to 05˚33’20” is ruled by Ketu star and Mars sub.
So, it means even though zodiac positions are different, but rulers are same, then it indicates some common relations in that zodiac positions. It’s just like Rasi Tulya Navmansh or Navmansh Tulya Rasi or group of planets effect through fixed star.
So, from my studies above on this point, I am mentioning the following three kinds of yogas –
- Planet and Cusp are ruled by common rulers.
- Cusp and another Cusp are ruled by common rulers.
- More than one planets are ruled by common rulers.
These are in descending order.
Now, we will see how these yogas give results?
So, as far my experience says that one has to judge in the following way, when you find such a yoga in any chart. There are chances of more than one yoga or all type of yogas present in a chart. Such yoga indicates some special type of results, whether it may be good or bad, or some special quality in any form, either it may be in physical – mental – art or in any field etc.
Not only that, one can use this yoga for matching point of view, these yogas work in the following ways –
- Joint rulers can affect through its position in a chart.
- Joint rulers can affect through its natural karakatwa.
So, when in a chart if you find such yoga, than above two factors affect two factors which are involved. Many times one can find more than two objects involved in one yoga e.g. two planets and one cusp or three planets ruled by same common rulers.
In my earlier discussion I have given four zodiac positions ruled by same three rulers, Mars – Venus – Mercury. Now there are chances that either two planets are in different zodiac from above and one cusp is ruled by same rulers zodiac from above.. So, in such case all three are interlinked by same joint rulers.
In joint ruler’s yoga, zodiac of three rulers is in the following manner –
- Three rulers rule single position in a zodiac.
- Three rulers rule double position in a zodiac.
- Three rulers rule triplicate position in a zodiac.
- Three rulers rule quadruplicate position in a zodiac.
In K.P., whole zodiac is divided in ‘249’ numbers, because each number is ruled by minimum three planets, as a signlord, starlord and sublord, and in this three rulers, there may be a single or two or three planets ruling as a sign lord – Star lord and Sub lord.
But in above; yogas and in above classification, combined effects of same rulers,
either it may be Signlord or Starlord or Sublord, its total number is ‘122’. For convenience, I have given four tables as per classications.
1] Three rulers ruled as Signlord – Starlord – Sublord in a single position, and their position is not repeated, such combinations are ‘44’.
2] Three rulers ruled as a Signlord – Starlord – Sublord in twice position, and such combinations are ‘41’.
3] Three rulers ruled as a Signlord – Starlord – Sublord in thrice position, and such combinations are ‘25’.
4] Three rulers ruled as a Signlord – Starlord – Sublord in quadruplicate position, and such combinations are ‘12’.
Now, we will tally this above classification with our ‘249’ division as under.
1] 44 x 1 = 44; 2] 41 x 2 = 82; 3] 25 x 3 = 75; 4] 12 x 4 = 48.
Now we add it as under 44 + 82 + 75 + 48 = 249, So, above classifications tally with zodiac division as per Vimshottari dasa system and K.P. horary.
One can use these tables for each chart, as under.
After casting a horoscope, one has to fill up the last column of each table, from the chart. In a chart there are 25 points [12 cusps + 12 planets including Rahu, Ketu + Fortuna], all these 25 points one has to enter in a appropriate table, so one can easily get, which two or more objects are ruled by ‘Common Joint Rulers’.
In examples, I have called ‘CJRT’ for Common Joint Rulers Theory. In horoscopes, I have used regular astrological symbols as under for signs and planets.
