Technique: Saptarishis Astrology

With Obeisance to Lord Ganapathi and to the benevolent Saturn who is the Karma Karaka and also indicator of Pending Karma, we submit this technique at the holy feet of Sage Bhrighu, the founder of Bhrighu astrology, the greatest one who no doubt is most beloved for showing us all that we do not know the basics of astrology yet. May he accept and bless this technique. May the ones who follow the rules of Jyotisha Purusha be able to use this technique effectively. At the end of this article we will add some notes from Dr Arjun Pai on the Master Keys for BSPs.

Mastering BSPs

To Master BSPs or any particular technique of astrology, you have to let go of all techniques and use only that one particular BSP on 25 to 50 charts. After this stage the technique will start talking to you. Then practice it blindly on 25 more charts and then mastery will happen if it is in your karma to use BSPs or become a great astrologer. By the end of 75 charts you yourself will learn the exceptions to the rule. 99% of the astrologers do not even pass this bridge. If you cannot follow the process of hard work in astrology especially in today’s time where no one has a Guru to guide on how to master a technique, you will land up either wasting your time or becoming a self obsessed critic who only passes judgment on every technique that it is not working without even going through the process described above.

Sage Bhrighu’s Easy Methodology (Bhrighu Saral Paddathi) – 34
BSP- 34: ‘Saturn implements itself in the 32nd Year where he sits or in the 10th House from itself.’

In our analysis of the events using the above BSP we have used the Kakshya method that has been detailed in “Bhrighu Saral Paddathi – 7″ by Venkat Ramana, SA Magazine Vol. 6, page 375. The Kakshya table has been reproduced here for quick reference.

Chart 1: Angelina Jolie
DOB: 04-June-1975; TOB: 09:09:00 Hrs (+07.00 west); POB: 118W14, 34N03.

a) The 32nd year of the native was operating from June 2006 till June 2007.

b) Saturn (23 degrees), posited in the 12H of foreign lands implemented his energies in the 10H from itself, triggering the 9H of children (in Stree Jataka 9H is used for children) and specially the Sthira Putrakaraka Jupiter, being the 9L placed in 9H at the same degree of Saturn (23 degrees).

c) Also, as per BCP in the 32nd year 8H (both from Ascendant and Aries) gains special importance to delineate the possible events of the year. From Ascendant, Aquarius is activated and so his lord co-lord Rahu, posited in the 5H (Scorpio) of children. Rahu is also the karaka of foreign things & unconventional things. From Naisargika Kundali Scorpio (8H) is activated, and again we have the 5H of children connected with Rahu.In the same line of thought, we can see that Saturn is positioned in naisargika 3H Gemini (signing contracts, agreements), which is a clear reference to the standard procedure for adoptions nowadays. So, some event related to 5H of children & 12H of foreign land is likely to manifest in her 32nd year.

d) Angelina adopted a child from a Vietnam orphanage on March 15, 2007 (son named Pax Thien).

e) Notice Saturn (adoption) implementing his deep karmic influencing on 9H and Jupiter (children) from the 12H of foreign lands. One can also note that Mars aspects Saturn and Saturn in turns aspects Mars who is 10L of adopted child; as per Uttarakalamrita– Chapter 5 on houses, Shloka 18 gives 10H as signification for adopted son. The influence of Rahu in the 5H via BCP method confirms the event. Saturn and Jupiter, being the key planets for this event were, at the time of the event, in almost perfect degreeical trine aspect.

DOB: 16-Apr-1889; TOB: 20:00:00 Hrs (+00.00 west); POB: 0W10, 51N30.

a) The 32nd year for the native operates from April 1920 to April 1921.

b) In the 32nd year Saturn’s 10th aspect came in the 7H where Mars (2L & 7L) is posited with exalted 11L Sun (spouse, child – BPHS Chapter 11 shloka 11). Lagna lord and 8L are retrograde in the 7H of relationships.

c) Saturn is in Cancer, a sign important for stability of home life and often ignored even by scholars. For Libra Ascendant Saturn plays a very pivotal role in causing a stable home life or a stable unperverted mind. According to the proposed rule, Saturn implemented his energies where he was seated (10H of Shuka; 4H from 7H–happiness- from marriage) and in the 10H from itself (7H of marriage). Saturn influences especially the 7L Mars (placed in 7H) being both planets at the same degree. The above analysis hint at an event related to relationship or marriage.

d) Incidentally, the native got divorced on November, 1920 in the 32ndyear.

e) It is worthy to note that being positioned in the 2H from UL and 7H from A7 (both Maraka places for marriage purposes) Saturn holds a major role regarding the sustenance of marriage. Also, observe that Saturn is placed in the kakshya1 of Mercury, the 9L of dharma/religious marriage occupying the 6H of divorce in debilitation.

DOB: 15-Dec-1920; TOB: 00:20:00 Hrs (+08.00 west); POB: 121W07, 37N45.

a) The 32nd year for this native operates from December 1951 to December 1952.

b) Saturn as 5L (new opportunity) and 6L (job) implemented his energy in the 10H (career) from Ascendant in the referred year. Saturn also implements itself in the Ascendant indicating new beginnings in profession (1H is profession according to Sarvartha Chintamani).

c) In 32nd year of life the native got his first corporate job as an accountant with the Westinghouse Electric Corporation at the beginning of 1952.

d) Note the presence of A6 (service) and GL (status) in the 10H also indicating this event in the native’s 32nd year.

a) The 32nd year for the native operates from July 1982 to July 1983.

b) Saturn is activating the 2H of family by being posited in it and through 10th aspect influences the 11H (spouse, child – BPHS Chapter 11 shloka 11) where the 9L (children) Mars is posited. This indicates an event related to 2H of family and 11H of fulfillment of desires.

c) In her 32nd year Lucie’s first son was born (December 31, 1982).

d) Also, observe that Saturn is giving the results of his kakshya lord Jupiter, the 5L of children and natural significator of progeny.

Chart 5: Amos B. Alcott
DOB: 29-Nov-1799; TOB: 04:00:00 Hrs (+04.50 west); POB: 72W59, 41N36.

a) The 32nd year for the native operates from November 1830 to November 1831.

b) Retro Saturn (4L & 5L) implemented his energies in 10H of career and profession. The 10th aspect of Saturn is on the 7H of relationships and marriage which has Rahu placed there. Saturn being the 5L of children to implement in the 7H can show some event related to the result of marriage.

c) The native had his first child in the 32nd year of life, Anna Alcott (born on March 16, 1831).

d) Notice, Saturn being the lord of 5H and placed in the kakshya of the 9L Mercury is capable to bring progeny to the native. Further, by activating the 10H from itself he triggers the significations of Rahu placed there. Rahu is the co-lord of 5H (Aquarius) of children.

a) The 32nd year for the native operates from May 1995 to May 1996.

b) Saturn implements itself in the 10H of profession being a very powerful Yogakaraka for this chart. The 10H from Saturn is also activated, it is the 7H which is a house of profession too (Bhavat Bhavam). Note that arudha of the 10H (profession) and arudha of 5H (change of job) are posited in the 7H of business. This signifies events that may be related to 10H of career/ profession or business progress or something to do with children.

c) Native changed job in his 32nd year on October 8, 1995.

d) Notice that Saturn is triggering the manifestation of events related to job (A6) and changes in career (A5) if we consider the arudhas in our analysis. Using kakshya method we can see Saturn activating the Sun, which is placed in the Ascendant indicating new beginnings in profession (1H is profession according to Sarvartha Chintamani).

DOB: 12-Jun-1966; TOB: 12:20:00 Hrs (+05.00 west); POB: 77W00, 38N58.

a) The 32nd year for the native operates from June 1997 to June 1998.

b) Saturn implemented itself in the 7H of relationships and is with 11L Moon (fulfillment of desires and significator of friends circle). Also, notice Saturn implementing itself in the 4H with its 10th aspect. Jupiter (4L and 7L) is with A7 and Lagna Lord Mercury in 10H. All this indicates an event that could be related to 7H of relationships.

c) The native met her future husband for the first time in the 32ndyear.

d) Also note, Saturn is Darakaraka and occupies the kakshya of Jupiter, the 7L of marriage conjunct A7 (relationship). The native got married in the following year.

a) The 32nd year for the native operates from December 1994 to December 1995.

b) In the 32nd year, Saturn implemented itself in the 5H of children where he is placed along with the 9L (children) Venus and the arudha of 2H (family). Also, 10H from natal Saturn was activated, bringing events related to family (2H) and children (A5). All these indicators hint at an event involving 5H of children/ speculation and 2H of addition to family, wealth.

c) The native’s second daughter was born during his 32nd year.

d) Using the kakshya method we observe Saturn in the slot of Moon (Chara Putrakaraka), clearly showing the agenda of native’s life at that moment. Also, notice the strong influence of Venus and Moon on 5H, bringing female progeny to this person.

b) In the referred year, Saturn was implementing his energies in the 2H of family being the 9L of progeny in conjunction with the 11L (desires) Mars and the Chara Putrakaraka Moon. Saturn is also implementing in the 11H of fulfillment of desires wherein karaka for children Jupiter is seated with 5L Venus and 3L Sun.

c) In the 32nd year of this native’s life, the birth of his second daughter took place.

d) Now, note the arudhas of the 5H and 11H also collaborating in the 2H of family for the manifestation of the event. The placement of Saturn in his own kakshya gives to us another clue about the fructification of 9H significations.

a) The 32nd year for the native is operating from January 2009 to January 2010.

b) In this year, Saturn implemented his energies in the 2H of wealth, family and possessions and 11H of gains with its 10th aspect from his natal position. Note that the dispositor of Saturn has gone to the 6H of debts with 4L (property) Venus and 12L (expenditure/ investment) Mercury. This indicates that the native may have taken loan to purchase a property.

c) The native purchased a house in the 32nd year of his life.

d) Observe that Saturn, along with Mars is considered Bhumi Karaka and in this particular chart he is also Matrikaraka (MK stands for 4H significations). Further, the2H is the 11th (gains) from 4H of property. As a result, the native had gain (11H) of property in this year.

c) Saturn is 12L and DK (Long distant travels) associated with the arudha of 12H (UL).His 3rd drishti casted on A7 and A9 may indicate fortune through long distant travel. So we can assume that some event related to travel or long journeys is possible in the
32nd year for this native.

d) The native went abroad in his 32nd year.

e) Observe that Saturn is activating via 10th aspect the karaka of home and MK (4H
significations) Moon, which is placed in the house of foreign lands.

Master Keys By Dr Arjun Pai

Master Key 1: Note the natal position of Saturn (a Karmic Planet) and the 10th from it with respect to Kalapurusha Kundali, this will uncode the deepest karmic secrets of the native for the 32nd year.

Let us explain the same with an example. Take the Chart 1 of Angelina Jolie

i) Saturn is in Gemini. It is the 3H of the kalapurush kundali. 10th from Gemini is Pisces which is 12H of kalapurush.

ii) Note all the significations of 3rd and 12th House.

iii) Now, look at the 32nd year events in the life of the native, shown below and synthesize the details:

Event 1: December 22, 2006 saw the release of The Good Shepherd a spy film directed by Robert De Niro and starring Matt Damon and Angelina Jolie. 3H of acting, communications, neighbours and 12H of spies, drudgery and deception.

Event 2: Jolie’s mother, Marcheline Bertrand, lost her battle with ovarian cancer and died at age 56 on January 27, 2007 in Los Angeles.

3H of exit of Mother and 12H of separation from family, going to far away places, sorrow and sin.

Event 3: On March 15, 2007 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, the actress signed papers allowing her to adopt a three-and-a-half-year-old son from Vietnam named Pax Thien.

3H is 11th from 5H of children and 12H is foreignland and also 12H is 3rd (signing contracts or Agreements) from 10th house of adoption as per Uttarakalamrita.

Event 4: Jolie made her directorial debut with the documentary ‘A Place in Time’, which captures the life in 27 locations around the globe during a single week 27 April 2007
3H of courage, Firmness, valour, short travels, writings, change of residence and 12H of foreign land.

Master Key 2: Note the 8H from kalapurusha kundali (Scorpio Sign) and also 8H in natal chart to decode the finer points of BCP for 32nd year Lets again take the example for Jolie’s chart.

i) Scorpio has Rahu (foreign) in the 5H of children. Rahu is a shadow planet and indicates photography or cinema in the 5H of artistic talents. Rahu is 5H also shows Brilliant planning, shadyantra (deceptive planning), lack of Respect for gurus (preceptors), love for all kinds of pleasures.

ii) Again, 8H from natal chart is Aquarius. Rahu the co-lord of Aquarius has gone to 5H of children and other co-lord Saturn gone to 12H of foreign and loss of family member.

Master Key 3: Look for symbiotic relationships to delineate the results for other 32nd year BSPs

1) Jupiter will implement its 5th aspect in the 5th house from the place it is located in the 32nd year of a native’s life
2) Mars implements its 4th aspect in the 32nd year
3) Mercury implements in the 8H from itself in the 32nd year
4) Where Sun sits he implements itself in the 32nd year

Bhrighu Saral Paddathi (BSP) is an amazing predictive tool in the sense of directing the astrologer to the houses and planets which will manifest the important events in a given year. However, as seen in the examples above and all the 33 previous articles about this methodology, the technique could be a complete failure if the astrologer is not able to assess the promise contained in the birth chart. We should never jump to conclusions about predictive techniques if we do not have the ability to interpret the Prarabdha Karma contained in the native’s Janma Kundali. This is, in fact, an easy methodology, but only for those who have mastered the basics of Jyotisha.
