This is the second article explaining yet another writing of Late P.S.Iyer. It is a well known fact that P.S.Iyer was an expert in Prasna Astrology and he used to give importance to Prasna more than Natal horoscope analysis. He always used to say that for any purpose, it is better to study the natal chart as well as Prasna chart and satisfy yourself that the results arising out of analysis of the two types of charts, is found to agree, the matter or the purpose is likely to materialize. This is more confirmed in respect of marriage. Late P.S.Iyer was considered as the ‘Top Most Authority’ on marriage matters & he has written a book in tamil language on marriage which is by far considered the best book on marriage so far by those who read English astro books and also tamil astro books. Here I will explain the things to be seen from the horoscope of the prospective boy as per the thinking of P.S.Iyer.

There is a saying in Sanskrit

विवाहस्च विवादस्च समयोरेव शोभतेः

Meaning that be it marriage or discussion, it should be between 2 equal persons and then only it will be distinctive and interesting. Here the word ‘equal’ has got a very deep meaning. Elders say that are 30 to 40 things one has to see between the boy and the girl and then decide about the compatibility. Some of the essential things to be seen are, Colour, Creed, Height, Education, Status, Family background, Family status, Caste, Varna, financial status, character, habits, mental status, knowledge, intelligence and so on, so forth. The base for all these things is the horoscope analysis. Because when one exami nes the horoscope of the boy and girl, all these and many other unstated qualities will be disclosed by the efficient Astrologer. All these things have been clubbed in the Dasa Kuta or the ten types of agreements by the Rishis (sages).

Here is the list of revelations available on an examination of the charts of the boy and the girl:

One should thoroughly examine the 7^th house, Lord of the 7^th house, planets aspecting the 7^th house, planets posited in the 7^th house and Venus in both the horoscopes. Because in the horoscope of the male, the character of his wife will be based on the 7^th lord as well as the element to which the planet belongs to. [The five elements viz. Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether.]

For example if the 7^th house happen to be Aries, Wife will be pious. If it is Taurus, she will be interested in eating tasty food; if it is Gemini, she will be capable of keeping the house neat, clean and beautiful; for Cancer as the 7^th house, his wife will protect the family values. For Leo as the 7^th house, wife will go hand in hand with her husband and she will assist her husband too. If it is Virgo, she will be interested in beautifying herself. If it is Libra, she will be a capable woman and will talk according to circumstances. If it is Scorpio, she will take special interest in food and in reading and listening the Vedic scripts. If it is Capricorn she will be exhibit keen interest in giving happiness to her husband. In addition to this she will take great care in selecting her dresses as also the ornamental things needed for beautifying the house. If it is Aquarius she will take care of the expenses and will be thrifty and will save lot of money, property and various other things. If it is Pisces, she will be clever, will have gained knowledge by reading various books and will be keeping the clothes, vessels etc in the house in a beautiful manner.

[Unfortunately, no clues are given by P.S.Iyer in this list for Sagittarius as 7^th house]

There was a great poet in Tamil who has stated about what is rare, what is cruel or horrid, what is new, what is big etc. According to her the rarest is the birth as a human being. Then poverty is cruel, crueler than poverty is a wife who cannot show affection and the cruelest thing is taking food from the hands of such an affectionless wife. Hence, if we are to achieve the aim of life, we should have a good wife who should be equal to us, who should be a friend, philosopher and guide to a man always. But how to find out whether the girl whom one is going to marry will possess such qualities without making an acquaintance with her? After moving with her closely, if one finds that she does not possess the expected qualities, the male will reject the female in foreign countries. But in India this opportunity of acquainting oneself with the bride to be is largely not possible due to social customs. Hence, in India, religion, caste and suitability are taken as the basis which is being done through the matching of charts of the boy and the girl and decide about whether after marriage the couple will follow the righteous path, will get good progeny and will live amicably and happiness.

In the Indian Shastraic marriage, there is an important function called as ‘Saptapati’. The bride’s right leg is placed on a grinding stone [called as ‘Ammi’ in Tamil] and bridegroom holds her fingers in the leg. He then moves her leg by 7 steps amidst chanting of appropriate mantras. The first step confirms that they both have become husband and wife. In the second step it is confirmed that they will run the family with peace and harmony. In the third step they vouch that they will follow a righteous path. In the fourth step, family traditional values will be protected, in the fifth step increase the progeny, in the sixth step they will be adjustable and will give and take respect to each other and in the seventh step they vouch for maintaining Sathyam (truthfulness), Dharmam (righteousness) and protect the growth of the family are all confirmed. This is like an agreement without any writing or signature but keeping the Fire God (Agni Devatha) as the witness.

Hence one can understand the importance of the marriage ceremony in the Hindu Religion. It is not a union for the sake of bodily pleasures but is a method for conducting the life in a pre planned and righteous way. For this purpose only, the matching of horoscope is done prior to marriage to find out whether the boy and girl are equal to each other and will they be in a position to follow the righteous path.

Combinations for no marriage as well as unhappiness through marriage

7^th Lord, 7^th house and Venus – if all the three are without strength and afflicted, that person cannot marry. If two out of these three are strong and also aspected by Lagna Lord, then marriage will happen but he will have no happiness in the family. If only one out of the three is strong, wife of such a native will pass away at a specific year/age of the native.

Note: While ascertaining the strength of the planets here, the placement position of the planet (like own house, exaltation etc.), aspects on the planets, planets conjunct with them as also the position in the Navamsa – all are to be taken into consideration.

If there is aspect of powerful Lagna Lord, Yogakaraka or the 7^th lord then any blemishes on the planet will get reduced. Combust planets, Debilitated planets will have no strength at all. If the planet is placed in the Navamsa of its enemy then also they lose the strength even if they are powerful in Rasi chart.

If Mars is placed in the 7^th house there will be discord between husband and wife. If such a Mars is aspected by Saturn, wife will pass away early. If 7^th house happens to be Capricorn and Jupiter is placed there or if the 7^th house is Scorpio and Venus is placed there, the first wife may die or she may obtain divorce. If 7^th house is Taurus and Mercury is placed there without any benefic aspects, wife will not live with the husband for a long period and will also not try to get divorce. If Saturn is placed in the 7th house, the marriage will be against accepted norms. If the 7^th house is aspected by Saturn alone, native will have connections with the wife of others or he will marry a girl elder to him and the marriage will be with accepted norms. If in the chart of male, Venus and Moon are placed and if that combination is in Taurus, Cancer, Libra or Pisces and if that conjunction is aspected by Saturn even if he marries many girls will not be satisfied with sexual life and will approach widows for sexual satisfaction. If Moon is debilitated in the 7^th house his behavior will make his wife sad and unsatisfactory. If Rahu is placed in the 7^th house and aspected by Saturn, his wife will contact sexual disease and will pass it on to her husband. If Mercury, Sun and Ketu are placed in the 7^th house he will be without manliness. He cannot satisfy his wife sexually. If Pisces happens to be the 7^th house and if Saturn is placed there or if Virgo becomes the 7^th house and Jupiter is placed there, and in such a horoscope if in the 4^th house or the 10^th house any powerful malefic planet is situated, the first wife of such a native will be murdered or she may commit suicide. In case there are no malefics in the 4^th or 10^th house, for a Pisces Lagna native and Saturn is placed in the 7^th house, the married life of the native will be like that of a desert. If Ketu is placed in the 7^th house and aspected by Moon and Mercury, he will get a wife who might be mad. If Venus and Sun are within a distance 5 degrees and placed in the 5^th or 7^th or 9^th houses, his wife will be lame in some part of her body. If in the 7^th house Mandi, Saturn and debilitated Venus are there, and if the wife is born either on Saturday or Wednesday she will have fits.
If Venus is placed in the middle of a Bhava and is aspected by malefics, he will have trouble and agony from female. Such a Venus if placed in the 2^nd, 7^th or 12^th houses, he will have more than one wife. If that Venus is aspected by Saturn and Mars, both the husband and wife will die at the same time through some accident. If malefics are placed in the 4^th and 8^th house from Venus, and if that Venus is aspected by Saturn and Mars, then also both will die at the same time due to accident or they both will be murdered simultaneously. If in the 4^th and 8^th places from Venus, malefics are placed, if that Venus does not receive the aspect of Jupiter or Mercury placed in an even rasi or out of these two viz. either Mercury or Jupiter are not within 5 or more degrees, then the results stated above will definitely happen.
If in a male’s horoscope Sun and Rahu are situated very close to each other in the house of Venus or Moon, then the native will be getting the white leprosy or gonorrhea. If it is in some other rasi a severe venereal disease will result. If the 7^th house from Lagna or Moon is aspected by the 5^th or 7^th lord or by benefics or are placed in the 7^th house (borth from Lagna and Moon) the native will get happy children, property through wife. If Sun is placed in Virgo Lagna, and if Saturn from Pisces aspects it, whatever number of wives the native marries, during his last days none will be available to serve him. If in the above stated situation, Mars is in the 5^th house and also aspected by Saturn or Mars and Saturn are conjoined in the 5^th house, he will have no own sons to perform his last rites.
If malefics are placed in the 2^nd, 4^th, 8^th or 12^th places from Venus and if Venus is not conjoined by any benefics or bereft of any benefic aspects, his wife will die in a fire accident or by falling from a height or by hanging.

Note: Here hanging includes death due to throttling the neck, suffocation or bringing into a state of unconsciousness and such unnatural deaths putting the girl into sufferings. In modern days, this can include the dowry deaths or death due to troubles created by in-laws leading the girl to death.

For a person born on Amavasya (New Moon day), if Sun and Moon are together in the 6^th or 12^th, Such a person will have some disease in one of his eye or will be blind in one eye. His wife will also get some trouble in one of her eyes.
Saturn in ‘Rikta Sandhi’, a weak Venus in the 7^th house, no benefic planets in the 5^th house and there is no aspect by benefics on the 5^th house will fetch a wife who will be a barren woman.

Note: Rikta Sandhi is the last degree of Cancer and first degree of Leo, last degree of Scorpio and first degree of Sagittarius and last degree of Pisces and first degree of Aries.

When malefics are placed in Lagna, 7^th or 12^th house without any benefic aspects and Moon is either in debilitation or very near to Sun, such a person’s wife will not beget any issues. If in such a situation, Venus is either debilitated or in ashtangatha (Combust) or placed in the houses of Sun or Moon (either Leo or Cancer) such a person will never get married. If the 12^th house happens to be the house of Venus and if Saturn is placed there, such a native will be a slave of prostitutes.
If Venus placed in the 7^th house, has obtained various vargas of either Saturn or Mars and if that Venus is aspected either by Mars or Saturn or by both, such a native will covet the wife of others. If such a Venus is aspected jointly by Saturn, Mars and Moon, both the husband and wife will be of bad characters.
If Saturn and Mars are placed in the 7^th house to Venus and/or Moon, that native will never get married. Saturn and Mars joined together and has mutual aspect between a male and a female planet, he will marry an old girl after he attains old age.

Note: Male planets are Sun, Mars, Rahu and Jupiter. Female planets are Moon and Venus. Saturn and Mercury are eunuchs)

There will be Raja Yoga if the 7^th lord is placed in the 5^th But if that 5^th house as well as the 7^th house is aspected by the 8^th lord or the badhakasthana lord, family will not flourish. Wife of the native whose 5^th lord and the 8^th lord, having obtained blemish and placed in the 7^th house will not survive longer. When debilitated or a weak Moon is placed in the 5^th house and in the 5^th or the 7^th or the 12^th there from, Rahu, Ketu, Saturn or weak Sun or debilitated Mars is found, he will have no family life.

Crooked or Cruel Wife

When Venus is placed in a movable sign and is subjected to papakartari Yoga (hemmed in between malefics) and if joined or aspected by Saturn, his wife will be wicked or of bad character. She will not even hesitate to kill her husband.
In a male’s horoscope, if Venus is placed in the house of Mars or in the Navamsa of Mars and if Mars aspects that Venus or conjoins, his wife will be of a cruel character. Similarly, if Venus is in debilitation either in Rasi or Navamsa and joined with Saturn or aspected by Saturn or conjoined with debilitated Saturn in Navamsa, such a person will be interested in marrying a girl of questionable character or a girl who has already been raped or lost her virginity.

Longevity of the wife

If Mandi is placed along with Venus or in the trikonas to the 7^th house (i.e. in 7^th or 11^th , 1^st or 3^rd houses from Lagna), such a native’s wife will die either because of family faults or sins.
When Venus is placed in the house of Sun (Leo) or of Mars (Aries or Scorpio) and if that Venus is either aspected by Sun and/or Mars or conjoined with Sun and/or Mars such a native’s wife will die due to fire if Venus happens to be in a Tejo tatwa (Fire). If in Prithvi tatwa (Earth), she will die either by falling from a mountain or by a building collapse. If it is in a Jala tatwa (Water), the death will be due to water – either in well, tank, river, ocean etc. In Vayu Tatwa (Air) the the cause of death will be cyclone, tornado, volcano, lightning, poisonous gas etc. In Akasha tatwa (Sky) electricity, thunder and lightning will be the cause of death.

Note: Method to find out in which Tatwa a planet is situated: Each Rasi has got two and a quarter constellation. Each pada has got a duration of 3° 20’ which is 200’. This is the general rule. But here take the duration of each Rasi as 120 minute (5 ghatikas). For odd rasis the order will be Earth, Water, Fire, Air, Akash (Sky) and the duration will be – for earth 480 seconds or 8 minutes (20 vighati), for water it is 960 seconds or 16 minutes (40 vighatis), for fire it is 1440 seconds or 24 minutes (60 vighatis), for air it is 1920 seconds 32 minutes (80 vighatis) and for Akash it is 2400 seconds 40 minutes (100 vighatis) making a total of (480 + 960 + 1440 + 1920 + 2400) = 7200 seconds or 120 minutes (300 vighatis or 5 ghatikas). The order will be reversed for even Rasis that is to say that for Akash 240 seconds, for air 1920 seconds, for fire 1440 seconds, for water 960 seconds and for earth 480 seconds. If we make the calculations on this basis, it can be found out which planet is in which tatwa in the Rasi where it is placed. How? For each rasi we allocate 30 degrees or 1800 minutes. This 1800 minutes is to be divided into 5 parts as stated above i.e. by dividing this by 120 minutes we get a quotient of 15 times the order will get repeated in one rasi.

An example will clarify this. Suppose Venus is in Leo 15° 40’. Converting it into minutes we get 940 minutes. Divide this by 120 minutes the quotient will be 7 and remainder will be 100 minutes. Now allocate this 100 minutes – first 8 minutes to earth, next 16 minutes to water, next 24 minutes to fire, next 32 minutes to air which will total up to 80 minutes. Next slab will be 80-120 minutes which will be akash tatwa.

When Venus and Mandi have joined in any house and in Kendra to this conjunction is Rahu, then that person’s wife will die on account of snake bite.
When Venus is within 3 degrees in a Rasi and has conjoined Saturn and in the 8^th house to this conjunction Rahu or Ketu or Sun or Mars is placed, that person’s wife will meet with an unnatural death. If that Venus is placed in the Chatushpada Rasi, then she may face death on account of quadruped animals.
If in the above Venus is placed in a Drekkana of bird, she will die either on account of bird or on account of bird Dosha or in flying airplane.
If that Venus is in Jalachara Rasi and Venus and Moon are together, his wife may die by falling either in an ocean or river.
If such a Venus is in Cancer or in the second half of Capricorn, his wife will die in a pond, or a small pond or in a well by falling in it.
In like manner, one should predict the death of a native’s wife taking into consideration, Rasi in which Venus and Saturn is placed, their Drekkana as well as the planets aspecting Venus and Saturn.

Note: Chatushpada Rasis are Aries, Taurus, Leo and second half of Sagittarius. Jalachara Rasis are Cancer, Pisces, second half of Capricorn. Nara signs are Gemini, Virgo, Libra and first half of Sagittarius. Scorpio is a Keeta rasi.

Character of Wife

If Sun, Saturn and debilitated Venus are conjoined (means the conjunction must be in Pisces) or debilitated Venus is aspected by Saturn or Venus, such a native’s wife would have been affected by evil spirits, demons and such devils. But she will be the first daughter-in-law in her husband’s family or she will be an important person in that family. If Moon replaces Sun in the above combination, she will be in a higher level than her husband in respect of education, status, appearance. If Mars is there instead of Sun, she will have troubles in her monthly periods (menses), will have illicit relation with other men and will not get satisfaction in sex with her husband. If instead of Sun, Mercury is there, she will have an attractive figure, will be very beautiful and will attract others. She will be of good character and with self-respect. She will be capable of uttering sacred words which will be treated as gospel truth. If Jupiter is there instead of Sun, she will have a good name and fame in the society, she will be respected by all and she will be giving birth to children who will become world famous. If Rahu or Ketu is there instead of Sun, she will have some bodily defect, will have sex with servants. If Mandi is there she will commit suicide.
If in the 7^th house of a male, Jupiter or Venus is placed, his wife will be from the same community. If Sun is there she would have been in a community equal to that of him. If Moon is there, he will get a girl whose father and mother would have been from different caste. If Mars is there she must of some blood relation to the boy. If it is Mercury, she will be closely related to his mother and will be from mother side relations. If Saturn is there, she will be from a lower caste than that of the boy.

Note: Here the 7^th house, house where the 7^th lord is placed or the 7^th house in Navamsa are to be looked into and whichever house is stronger then the planet in that house is to be taken for consideration. Also out of the lords of these three houses, whoever is having a greater strength, the girl will have the character and appearance of that planet.

If Mercury, Jupiter or Moon is placed in the 9^th house from Venus, such a native’s wife will be interested in charity, will be pious and will be a virtuous and a lucky woman. She will also beget children who will become famous.
If the lord of the seventh house has the required Shadbal, his wife will come from a rich family. If the 7^th Lord possesses special strength, then his wife will be in a higher status than him. But if the 7^th lord is bereft of strength, his wife will come from a family with a lower status than himself. In case there is a debilitated planet in the 7^th house, his wife will be an unfit for the family of the husband. If the lord of the 7^th house as well as the planet in the 7^th house – both are debilitated, then such a native will have to buy his wife by paying money. Similarly, if the 7^th lord is without strength or combust , then that native will have to pay compensation to get his wife who would have been decided for marriage with another person or can also be the wife of another person. If the 7^th house is Scorpio and Saturn, Rahu or Mars is placed there and Venus is debilitated or is combust then that native’s wife will bring disease in her private parts, sugar disease etc as dowry. If in the 5^th house Saturn and Mars are there and in the 7^th house Venus and Rahu are placed and Jupiter aspects the 5^th house, Lagna lord is in Papakartari Yoga (Hemmed in between malefics) or in Kemadruma Yoga, that native will marry a pregnant woman. 7^th house, Venus, 7^th Lord – if all these are strong, if the 7^th house receives the aspect of Jupiter, native’s wife will follow the righteous path, will be a chaste woman, will adhere to fast and observe other religious rites, will beget good children, will have a strong willed mind. If Rahu or Ketu is placed in the 7^th house or the 7^th lord is without strength or the 7^th house is subjected to Papakarthari yoga and is receiving the aspect of Saturn and Mars or in the 7^th house planets have conjoined which are combust or in graha yuddha or any debilitated planet aspects it or is placed there, such a native unable to bear the bad behavior as well as character of his wife, her bad unacceptable injustices, will either try to become a Sanyasi or ascetic or will try to end his life.
If in a native’s horoscope if the 7^th house is occupied by Saturn and Rahu and is in Krura Shashtiamsa and in Kendra to this Jupiter, Moon and Mars are conjoined then such a native’s wife will pressurize him to have sex with her during her monthly period and the native will be subjected to venereal disease.
When seventh lord is with Jupiter and Sun is with Venus or Mercury but without combustion and is in the middle part, his wife will be of good character. If the above planets were to be in an opposite position to the above or in an adverse position, his wife will be reproached by people of the country, will be driven out of home by her kinsmen and will be leading a life of ignominy.
If malefics in Krura shashtiamsa are placed in kendra to 7^th house (means 7^th, 10^th, 1^st or 4^th) and aspects the 7^th house or the 7^th lord, that native’s wife will poison him and will be of fighting tendency or will be hot-tempered. In case the 7^th lord and the Lagna lord are friends or if both are placed in strength, both the family will be living happily and with love for each other. If it is placed otherwise-results will also be the opposite.

Note: Here both the Takalika Sambhanda as well as Natural Sambhanda should be taken into consideration.

If the 7^th house happens to be an even rasi and 7^th lord and Venus are placed in an even house, his wife will be a lucky woman. She will manage the house well. In such a circumstance, if the 5^th lord is not combust and is placed in 1^st or 5^th or 9^th house and the 5^th house receives benefic aspects, children born to them will become world famous.
Generally speaking if the 2^nd or the 5^th or the 7^th houses are in good position, that native will get all benefits from wife and children. Character of the wife will depend on the character of the planets aspecting the 7^th house, 7^th lord and Venus.

Danger to wife

Strong malefic planet, 5^th lord or 8^th lord, Planet that has exchanged place with 6^th or 8^th or 12^th lord, debilitated Jupiter, Venus placed in Scorpio, Venus placed with Rahu or Ketu-if any of these planets are aspected by malefics and placed without strength in the 7^th house and bereft of benefic aspects-such a native’s wife will have an unhappy death.
If the 7^th lord is placed in enemy’s house or in debilitation or combust or aspected by malefics and a strong malefic is placed in the 7^th house or the 7^th house is aspected by a strong malefic, that native will lose his wife in young age.

Note: Here young age can be taken to be up to 40.

Yoga for remarriage or more than one marriage

If the Janma Lagna falls in a dual Rasi and 7^th lord is placed in the 11^th house along with two more planets and in the 7^th house Mercury or Saturn is placed then there is a possibility of two marriages.

Note: Prasna Marga says if any one of the condition is present then also there may be two marriages.

If Sun and Mars are placed in the 7^th house either in Rasi chart or Navamsa chart the above stated second marriage will not happen.
If Saturn and Mars are together in the 7^th from Venus and Moon (both conjoined in a house) and if Saturn or Mercury is in the 7^th from Lagna and in the 11^th house two planets are positioned, then also the native will have more than one wife. If Venus is placed in Gemini and Moon is in a kendra to Venus or kendra to Lagna or Venus is placed in Gemini Navamsa and Gemini or Virgo becomes the 7^th house in Navamsa chart the native will have two wives.

Note: 7^th lord, Venus – Based on the position and strength of these two the character of the wife is to be stated.

If the 7^th lord is a benefic planet and is placed in 6^th or 8^th or 12^th or if he be a malefic and is placed in the 6^th or 8^th or 12^th from the 7^th house, such person’s wife will die in young age.

Note: Here young age is to be treated as between 15 and 35.

If in the 7^th house, lords of the 6^th, 8^th and 12^th are jointly placed or out of these three planets viz. 6^th, 8^th and 12^th lords, either two or all the three aspect the 7^th house and if the 7^th lord is weak, that native will have more than one marriage. For example, if the 7^th lord from Lagna as well as from Chandra Lagna and Venus are all with strength and are placed in Ishta Bhavas there will be three marriages.

Note: Here Ishta Bhava means kendra or trikona. If out of the three viz. 7^th lord from Lagna, 7^th lord from Chandra Lagna and Venus, two are strong and the third is weak, then the native will get two types of wife and will have illicit relation with a third. If one alone is powerful and two are without strength, he will have one wife and two illicit relations.

If the 7^th house is with strength and Venus and the 7^th lord attains Vargottama, own Drekkana or exalted Navamsa then also there will be remarriage i.e. will have 2^nd
If Saturn is placed in the 2^nd house and is aspected by malefics, the native will have many marriages and if aspected by benefics there may be two marriages or one marriage and one illicit relationship.
If either in the 7^th house or in the 2^nd house, any planet is placed and aspected by strong malefics and the dispositor’s of these 2^nd and 7^th house planets are totally weak, there will be remarriage or will have abundance of relationships with opposite sex.
There will be more than one marriage, if malefics are placed in the 7^th and/or 8^th house and there is no aspect by those bhava lords on the houses where these malefics are placed.
The Lord of Navamsa where the 7^th lord of Rasi chart is placed is combust or in debilitation or is placed in enemy house in Navamsa or subjected to papakartari yoga or aspected by malefics then there may be two or more marriages.
If the 7^th lord and the 10^th lord are conjoined and is placed in kendra or trikona or in exaltation and has got many swakshetra or friendly placements in Shadvarga or dasavarga or Shodasa varga, there will be many wives.
If there is mutual aspect between a strong 7^th lord and 11^th lord or placed in mutual trikona positions, then there will be ‘Kalathra Bahula Yoga’ meaning he will have the yoga of marrying many girls. But if the 7^th lord and the 11^th lord are weak but placed in mutual trikona positions, then there will be one wife but native will have many illicit relations.
If in the chart of a female, Moon and Venus are in the 4^th house or weak Venus is placed in the 12^th house and has association with malefic planets she will have remarriage. If the 12^th lord is with Sun in the 7^th house or Mercury is in the 12^th house and Sun is in Lagna and Venus is in the 2^nd house such a girl will marry another man while living with her husband.
If in the chart of a female malefics are there in the 3^rd house, weak benefics are in the 4^th house and Saturn is in the 12^th house, she will get married after her virginity is lost due to rape. If the Lagna is Virgo and in the 12^th house Sun, in the 2^nd house Venus are placed, due to compulsion she would have lost virginity and marriage will be held after that.
If in the 5^th house Rahu and Venus are placed, the girl will get married after losing her virginity. If Saturn is in 12^th house, Sun is in the 7^th house and malefics in the 3^rd and 4^th houses and if all these houses receive the aspect of malefic, she will lose her virginity against her wishes and will marry the same person compulsorily, who raped her.
The life of a female before her marriage can be known by a study of the Drekkana and Trimsamsa charts. Her virgin life before marriage can be exactly predicted by a study of the 3^rd, 4^th, 7^th and 12^th

Birth star of the wife or the husband

The nakshatra obtained by adding the sphuta of Lagna lord and Venus, the nakshatra got by adding the sphuta of lagna lord and 7^th lord and the sputa of 7^th bhava and planets aspecting the 7^th bhava- adding all these and dividing the same 360, the remainder got will be the nakshatra of the wife or the husband. Add the sputas of the 7^th bhava, 7^th lord, Venus, Moon and Yamakantaka and divide by 360. The remainder will indicate the nakshatra of the husband or wife.

Place of birth of wife or the direction from where husband will come

It is better to marry a girl/boy born with the combination – In the Ashtakavarga of Moon, the lord of the house where Moon is placed should be placed in the rasi of the Chandra Lagna lord or the rasi of the Lagna lord or in their Navamsa rasi. 7^th lord, the lord of the house where the 7^th lord is placed, Navamsa rasi lords of these planets, lord of the house where Venus is placed or the 7^th lord to that, the planet placed in the 7^th house-in the dasa of the strongest of these planets one will get his wife or the wife will get her husband.
When the sphuta of Lord of the 7^th house or the planets placed in the 7^th house, Venus are added, from that direction husband or wife is likely to come. If that Rasi is movable it will be from far off place, if fixed it will be from a nearby place and if it is dual it will be from the birth place or nearer to the birth place of the wife/husband.

Marriage time

If the 7^th lord is a benefic and is strongly placed and Venus is also having strength and if they are placed in Lagna kendra or conjoined with Lagna lord or aspected by Lagna lord marriage will happen at a very young age. If they are placed in trikona to either Lagna or Lagna lord, marriage will be held at the right age.
If the 7^th lord is too far away from lagna or the 7^th house, marriage will happen only after crossing the marriageable age. But if the 7^th lord is a benefic planet and is either conjoined with Lagna lord or aspected by Lagna lord and is placed in 3^rd or 6^th or 10^th or 11^th house, the native will get a wife very much younger to him and marriage will happen after he crosses the marriageable age. Here benefic planet means the natural benefics as also the lords of the 1^st, 5^th and the 9^th houses and the Yoga Karakas.

Combinations for Childhood marriage

(a) 7^th lord is placed very near the Lagna; (b) A benefic planet is placed very near to the benefic rasi from lagna or 7^th house; (c) Benefics are placed in Lagna, 2^nd house or the 7^th house and these planets receive benefic aspect; (d) Planets placed in Lagna, 2^nd house and 7^th house do not be lords of the 6^th or 8^th or the 12^th houses and if they get more benefic vargas; (e) 7^th lord is in Parvathamsa or Devalokamsa or Airavathamsa; (f) Lord of the 2^nd house is placed in the 2^nd house or placed in benefic houses and gets special strength.

Note: Parvathamsa means placement in exaltation or own house – in the shodasa varga if it is in a minimum of 6 vargas or in dasavarga in a minimum of 5 vargas. Devalokamsa means – in the shodasa varga, a minimum of 8 vargas, in the dasavarga a minimum of 7 vargas and is placed either in exaltation or own house. Airavatahamsa means in the shodasavarga getting a minimum of 10 vargas and in the dasavarga a minimum of 8 vargas either in exaltation or own house position. Mruduamsa is an auspicious amsa in shadvarga.

Bhagya (Fortune) from marriage

When Venus and 7^th lord are placed in a dual rasi or benefic 2^nd house lord is placed in a dual rasi or in the 2^nd house and there is a benefic aspect or shubha yoga on Lagna lord, Venus or the 9^th lord will make the native a fortunate person after marriage and will get immense wealth, good name and will be appreciated by elders.
All fortune or bhaghya will get destroyed or ruined if Venus, 7^th lord and 2^nd lord or Lagna lord are placed in Anishta Bhava (which are 2, 6, 8, 12) or combust or are afflicted otherwise.

Yoga for marriage

When benefics transit the 5^th, 7^th or the 9^th rasis of the natal chart marriage will happen.
If Jupiter aspects the natal position during transit or in the chart of female if Jupiter aspects the 12^th house or the 7^th house or the Lagna or aspects the 7^th house from Chandra Lagna or the 2^nd house, marriage will happen in the Daa, Antardasa, Pratyantardasa, transit of the planet who is stronger (of the above).

Note: It is not enough for a girl that time for marriage has come. Her parents or siblings also should get the Kanya Dhana yoga simultaneously. If it is not so, marriage will not happen at the appointed time. Similarly, in a male chart, if he gets marriage yoga or Jupiter’s strength or time for bed pleasures marriage may not happen unless his parents have the yoga to receive Kanya Dhan.

For those who are born in day time, when the time for marriage has come, when Sun transits the natal Lagna or Navamsa kendra or trikonas marriage may materialize. For those born during night take Venus instead of Sun.
In the Ashtakavarga of Venus, in the 7^th place from Venus, if Sun has got more bindus, then for that native, a girl born under the nakshatras of Krittika, Uttaraphalguni, Uttarashada. If Moon has got more bindus, his wife will be born under the constellations of Rohini, Hasta, Sravana; If Mars has got more bindus the nakshatra of the wife will be Mrigasirsha, Chitra, Dhanishta; If Mercury has got more bindus, the nakshatra of the wife will be Aslesha, Jyeshta, Revati; If Jupiter has got more bindus, Punarvasu, Visakha, Purvabhadrapada will be the nakshatra of the wife; If Venus has got more bindus, his wife will have any one of the nakshatras Bharani, Purvaphalguni, Purvashada; If Saturn has the largest bindus, the nakshatra of the wife will be Pushya, Anuradha, Uttarabhadrapada; If bindus are got for the house where Rahu is placed, the nakshatras of Rahu viz. Ardra, Swati, Satabhishang and if bindus are got for the house where ketu is placed the nakshatras Aswini, Makha, Mula will be the nakshatra of the wife.

Note: For Venus in its Ashtakavarga, the 7^th place doen not get many bindus. Hence based on the comparative strength of Venus or Lagna, whichever is stronger, based on that wife’s nakshatra is to be determined. But this should not be treated as a general rule. Because while matching of charts, according to Dina kuta agreement as well as Mahendra agreement some stars have to me omitted; importantly, the 8^th star, 22^nd star, 18^th star are to be avoided. 67^th pada nakshatra is also to be omitted. In addition to this for Rajju Dosha also some stars have to be omitted. Hence what is given above is only to be taken as a general indication.

Jupiter strength

If marriage is to happen, for both the boy and the girl, Jupiter should become favourable in transit. We have already stated that for a marriage to fructify, parents of the girl should get the Kanya Dhana Yoga. About which let us see some points as found in some Malayala books.
The term ‘Strength of Jupiter’ in Sanskrit has got a wider perspective. It not only indicates the strength of Jupiter in transit but also is indicative of appropriate time for marriage. Jupiter means, honor or dignity or heaviness or auspicious. It is also essential that the person should be running the dasa/Antardasa of planets capable of giving marriage and also according to transit the time for marriage should have come. In the case of a female, if the time to get the pleasures from husband has come, then the position of Jupiter in transit which are the aspect of Jupiter, position of Jupiter in transit in Lagna or 7^th house or in the house where natal Jupiter is placed or to the Lagna lord or the 7^th lord, marriage will happen. For example for a girl when Venus comes to the 12^th house of stronger of the Lagna or Chandra Lagna or the aspect of Jupiter along with the dasa, Antardasa or pratyantardasa capable of giving marriage comes, then she will get married immediately. 7^th lord, Venus and Jupiter when they transit in the same nakshatra then also marriage will materialize. For a girl according to current dasa running as well as transit if a yoga for pregnancy is found or yoga for proper marriage is found, then she will get married. Dasa of Lagna lord, Antardasa of the 7^th lord and the pratyantardasa of the 12^th lord should also be treated as strength of Jupiter. Some texts say that when in a female horoscope Venus or the 7^th lord is debilitated both in the rasi as well as Navamsa chart, then Moon should be taken as Kalathra karaka and then decide the time of marriage. Hence to determine the time of marriage all the above factors should be carefully studied. In Tamilnadu there is a blind belief that when Jupiter comes in the 2^nd or 7^th or the 9^th to the natal Lagna or Chandra Lagna, then only Strength of Jupiter has come-but this is totally wrong.
