Education and Sub Lord System
Vidyadhanam sarvadhanaal pradhaanam. In ancient times there were Gurukula set up by the torch bearers of that era and imparted education for the students by Preceptors and Savants in our great country. In those periods and eras, students were required to stay at the home of the teachers and get the education imparted.
Subjects of many sciences were taught to those students in many branches such as Veda, Jyothisha, artha-shastra, warfare, martial arts, etc., etc. by qualified and experienced teachers, on which platform we stand today in this modern world.
Nalanda International University is the name of a proposed university in Nalanda, Bihar, India, with its academic session is set to start. But the university is based on the ideal of the ancient center of higher learning, which was present from the 5th century AD to 1197 AD, said to have established during the reign of a kinq called Sakraditya.
Perhaps Nalanda University was the first great university in the recorded history of mankind, and was one of the world’s first residential Universities in India, and it had proudly accommodated around 10,000 students. The first University in modern medieval era was probably set up circa AD 1088 in Europe in the city of Bologna, Italy, for higher learning and for awarding degree, which was called University of Bologna.
As time turned and eras erased, many Universities were set up all across the globe. 28th US President Thomas Woodrow Wilson was previously the President of the Princeton University in the USA from 1902 to 1910. Indian President Sarvepalle Radhakrishnan was too Vice Chancellor of Andhra University.
The information and technology has grown vertically and horizontally and is beyond anyone’s stretch of imagination. Internet is a huge oceanic platform with gigantic depth used to reach out to for any information, and it is now available at the finger tips.
Many treat the subject of Astrology merely as an objective tool just good enough to use for marriage matching. The society is not really aware of the role of Astrology in the important events of one’s life, let alone education as a branch.
Indeed, Astrology is termed and considered largely as a subject and object of belief by a particular religion. It is misunderstood and mis- conceptualized as a subject of superstition or fatalism. Partly our fore- bearers are also to be blamed for this. Remedial measures prescribed by an astro are related to religious practices, secret procedures and secret oaths. Hence it is too easier to misunderstand this subject by general mass and term it as a subject betrothed and wedded to a particular religion. Common people seldom understood that Astrology is science, and therefore every astro-practioners should face up to the challenges of presenting the subject as science. It is very easy to misunderstand a person or a subject, but it is very difficult to understand anyone or anything correctly, articulately or thoroughly.
Education is wealth as without education, life shall be miserable for most of the citizens, and it contributes directly to the economic growth of a country. President John F Kennedy-said that a child mis-educated, is a child lost. Education is the stepping stones and stare-case to prosperity for any individual. The result of getting one educated is enormous that it cannot be printed on a single paper and the dimension of such a paper is beyond length and breadth, anyone could imagine.
It is the dream of every parent that their children get educated to a decent level. Children too are ambitious to get graduation degree from a University and look forward to receiving higher education. A child, who carries a bag on the back, holds a lunch basket in one hand; goes to school religiously from your neighborhood could be a daily scene for you. But that child could sometimes be the future President or Prime Minister or a celebrity film or sports star. Unless better education is attained, the position parents dream of and a student endeavors to achieve is seldom conquered.
