Understanding Seers’ wisdom and Schemes is not everybody’s cup of tea. One can go on perusing any number of classics or Vedic literature made available to us by our great Seers and get amazed how beautifully and wisely the literature is presented in a well knitted scheme to teach the persons about the ultimate truth, the truth of Universal application, called Ritam which cannot even be grasped easily by the wisest persons in the world not conditioned to grasp the same in a way prescribed by the Seers themselves.

The classical Vedic literature on Astrology, too is no exception as far as the scheme of Seers is concerned and the same will be tried to touched upon in the ensuing issues of TOA. For the time being, the point emphasised in this regard is only this that III Astrology, the concept of Raj Yogas, initially came to the fore with a very limited purpose only. The system “‘as evolved to know which one out of several children of the King, will become the worthy successor of the King in eventuality of King’s demise or seeking Vaanprastha or Sanyaas and whether that Successor would provide the Governance in accordance with Shastras keeping infact all the human values intact not only through his deeds/functions but also through making himself competent to protect his kingdom from all kinds of Evils including the inside and outside enemies of the country, Soceity, Nature and the Divine wisdoms. For the rest of the population, the Raj Yogas meant only to look for the purposes to know whether a person will become an obedient and good patriotic civil-citizen or become a traitor. Accordingly the names to those specific combinations was given as Raj Yogas, as the system started from the point of view of the “Raj” which means, the Governance of the State.

We are, now, in the Era of Democratic Governances. Though the system of evolution of Raj Yogas has been developed so much till now, the need of searching the new Raj Yogas and researching/discovering the lost ones has not receded. At the time when our country is going to have a new governance through. the elections for the 12th Lok Sabha, the TOA considered it fit to provide a platform to various eminent Astrologers, dedicated to the cause of Astrology, to decipher, their own experiences and wisdom in the same context. We believe, the esteemed readers will receive TOA well in the same spirit and welcome this election special issue as well.
