Dr. B. V. Raman Jottings from his Astrological Diary And More (Father-Daughter Conversations Recounting the Most Brilliant Predictions)
Jottings from My Astrological Diary… And More is a captivating book. Mrs. Gayatri Devi Vasudev has come out with a book that is rich in content and value. It sheds light on the personality of Dr. B. V. Raman and his Bhagirath Paryatan to establish astrology as an academic discipline.
Dr. B. V. Raman was a charismatic figure. He charmed his audience – both, who learnt from him and consulted him, with his extraordinary insights into the movement of planets and human mind. This book presents Dr. Raman’s editorials on world affairs which he wrote for nearly five decades. These editorials are a hallmark of his deep knowledge and incisive logic. Today, when astrology has become very popular, it seems quite apt and extraordinary at the same time, that a person of the calibre of Dr. Raman achieved great name and fame and even delivered a lecture at the United Nations.
Dr. B. V. Raman’s name today is synonymous with astrology the world over. His colossal contribution to the cause of Jyotisha made him an institution unto himself inspiring many to take up the study of this Vedic science, neglected and grossly misunderstood, until his arrival on the scene in the early part of the 20th century. His editorials in The Astrological Magazine were brilliant and eye-openers to the potential of astrology as a science of foreknowledge. Unfortunately, the 68-year old monthly closed down in 2007 after which it was revived as Modern Astrology following requests from readers across the globe.
